Jillian is my favourite now!
Totally agree with all the reviews!!Please note that this review is not just for "Jillan Michaels Killer Buns & Thighs", but for all of her series like the "6-week, 6-pack,","No More Trouble Zones", "Burn Fat Boost Metabolism" etc.I am in my late twenties and have been working out regularly for about 7 years now. I am gym person and always thought that workour DVDs are just a marketing gimmic. I was bored with the kind of crunches I had been doing and thought that they were not useful anymore. Like anyone elese these days, I went on to YouTube in search of workout videos. Jillian's 6-week, 6-pack abs caught most of my attention and when I tried them I could really feel the difference . I went ahead and bought the DVD and never regretted! It actually feels like the 30-40 minutes you spend in the workout were really worthwhile. I loved it so much that I also bought other titles in this series like the one with the 'killer buns and thighs' and 'no more trouble zones'. I hardly ever go to the gym now! I can safely say that Jillian's DVDs are the most effective form of workout I have ever did. It is truly kick-butt and don't require much equipment. My body is much toned and I am confident that if I do these regularly, I will get rid of all the trouble areas. I am sure most of us know the types of exercises which Jillian shows. E.g. we all know lunges tone quads and crunches tone abs. The DVDs are more effective because they focus a great deal on form and the pattern of breathing. Also, the sequence in which Jillia gets these done makes a lot of difference. The camera work actually helps you to learn an exercise , rather than just following it blindly. Plus, Jillian's instructions are totally motivating!Just a tiny bit of problem that I face is that the circuit training, i.e., doing the sets repeatedly with no break, is not really possible for everyone. I still struggle with some of the exercises.E.g in her "No more trouble zones" DVD, I cannot do the jumps and squats at the same time. But you can easily figure out your own variations in it, i.e you can just do a normal squat and still feel the work done. One more issue is that in the beginning, one HAS to take a break in the mid of this exercise. But as you work your way up, with time, you get stronger and can do an entire routine in one go.All in all,I highly recommend this DVD. I am myself going to make sure that I have each and every one of Jillian's workout DVDs.

This is one challenging workout and I only did level1!!! omgee. Since this is a 30 min workout(per level) (not her 1 hr videos) I combo'd this w/ the 6 week abs and I got one heck of a workout. I will say this, level 1 by itself was rough so if you only have 30 min you will still get a great workout. There were 2 exercises I really couldn't do yet so I just did more of the others to compensate. For the most part though, all the moves can be done , just perhaps a bit more slowly at first. My only grip w/ JM videos is that she doesn't explain the move first, she just jumps in as if you should know the name of the moves and know what they are about. So, the first time through on her vids I have to just watch her then play catch up when a new moves starts. All and all, a great vid to add to the JM collection. I have been using JM on and off for 6 months (mixed w/ gym work) and her workouts really help shape my body , which I luv.

Great strength workout to complement running
Killer Buns and Thighs is a great series of workouts. Level 1, which is about 38 minutes total (including the warm up and cool down) struck me as the most aerobic, whereas Levels 2 and 3 (slightly longer, but really not much) had more plyometric moves and much more jumping up and down in general. I will say this: I've done Level 1 many times, as it's my favorite of the three Levels and is a great workout (I'm not as much of a fan of jumping up and down for 30 minutes), but I definitely felt the burn more in Levels 2 and 3. The difficulty difference between Levels 2 and 3 is minimal, in my opinion -- both are hard, but doable. I'm a runner, and all 3 workouts provide excellent strength training to complement and tone.Natalie and Anita are pleasant, Jillian alternates between motivational and annoying, but it's never grating. It's just part of her shtick, and I'm willing to put up with it given how excellent the workouts are.

Results!
Like most Jillian videos this will be a challenge - I think that one can start at any activity level, if they allow themselves to go at their own pace. I am more inclined to do the 30 day shred, as I actually lost 20 pounds a few years back and I think the results were a little faster. You get three different levels and yes, they can all be a killer! She is less chatty in this video, in my opinion but you can always turn down the volume once you get a hang of the routine. Her videos are among the best for results; she knows her stuff. Again, just remember to not get ahead of yourself and go at your own pace " you don't have to get as deep as they do".

She really is the best !
i have done 21 day fix for 2 months (fun basics. ) and T25 for a month (too busy, dont like it) . Today i did jiliian Michaels killer buns and thighs and it's the real deal . i realy really love it!! i remember talking to myself during it omg this is so good. my only problem is it's not really 30 min. it's more like 40 min for level 1. i was mentally ready to stop at 30 min and then the last 10 min was a bit torturous. I know i am going to stick to it for sure. I never really like jillian on the biggest loser show but now i see why she is so popular. she is really on top of the game. POW!

Killer Buns and Thighs IS a killer!
This really works! I was working out with a personal trainer focusing on making my butt a little bigger. The next morning after our sessions my thighs and booty would be somewhat sore. After one day of doing this 30 minute working it was honesty hard to bend down to pick up my toddler and climb the stairs and get up off the couch. This is what I wanted all along from my sessions. So happy!! I will post before and after pics once I do it for a month. If you have a smart TV purchase it through the Amazon app and you won't need to wait for it to be delivered.

If you're ready to push yourself HARD
Since being introduced to JM's workouts at the beginning of this year, I have become a serious convert. She is funny, warm and incredibly motivational - all of which shines through in every DVD I have seen of hers - including this one. Now, having completed Ripped In 30 (which is tough) and No More More Trouble Zones (also very hard going but my fave), as well of some of 6 week 6 pack and Yoga Meltdown...(and yes I plan to get more!) I can categorically state that this DVD is the hardest I have done yet. This is the first one that has actually had me swearing and "OOOWWWW!" -ing at the screen. This is the one my partner walked home to find me doing (level 1) and seemingly in some noticeable discomfort. His face of disbelief said it all. When Jillian says she's giving you killer buns and thighs, she is not messing around. In the DVD, Jillian employs her tried and tested format of mixing strength training with high impact, short bursts of cardio (i.e. HIIT) and cranking up the level of each workout progressively until you feel ready to move on to the next one. And it works. This is the first DVD where I felt scared to move on to the next level until I had done the first for at least a couple of weeks - and I was right to be so! I have a pretty good level of overall fitness, in no small way thanks to the other DVDs I've done, and No More Trouble Zones I credit with very rapidly and very noticeably sculpting my body. But I like to hit it from all angles, so thought I'd give this a whirl too.I would echo the words of other reviewers on here and say, do not attempt this DVD unless you have at least tried some of JM's other work, as going in to this head first would be a killer! You must have a reasonable level of fitness to be able to manage the cardio bursts as even though they are very short, they are also intense. You must also be prepared to push yourself and want to break through the discomfort barrier to achieve results, or you will throw the towel in at circuit one. So get your head straight before you start! However, please do not be put off. If you're looking to achieve results, this lady delivers. If you put your all in to your workout, it will reward you with an amazing new body. I am beginning to see changes in places that more than 10 years of on/off gym attendance has never achieved. Even though I actually weigh slightly more than I have in the past when exercising hard, my frame is undeniably smaller. If you stick it out and put your all in to it there is no reason at all why you, or anyone, shouldn't see results. You just have to want them enough. I don't know if I could credit this DVD alone as I have used them all in combination, but my goodness, it makes you feel pushed, and hard.Jillian introduces level 3 by proclaiming "You FOOL for even attempting this workout!" Well yesterday, this fool attempted, and finished it. The fact that I can walk today is miraculous (although I'm stiffening up as the day wears on!) I nearly threw up from adrenalin in the 2nd circuit. I had to catch some air for a minute between circuits at one point. I nearly stopped entirely, but I'm too stubborn.Am I going to do it again? You bet!

i can do this!!! lol
Chose this dvd due to the ratings on it - arrived really quickly...OMG - after spraining my ankle last year (I was on crutches 2 months) I have not really exercised much since...so thought I would give this a go...yeah, doesn't really ease you back into exercise...its go go go from the warm up! loved it! hurting a little since haha but in a good I can feel it way! so it must be working???!!! Not quite able to complete everything on level 1 but am pushing through and will keep doing so...its got to get easier! Jillian doesn't irritate she does motivate so am confident this is money well spent! Give me a month of 2 and hopefully am in a place where am happy with my thighs and buns again! :O)

It’s got the ouch!
I have just done level one of this and it was quite enough! I’ll enjoy doing levels 2 and 3. It’s longer than Jillian’s other home DVD’s at 40 mins. And I definitely was relieved when it was over.Jillian gives very clear instruction with good visual alternatives. And her banter is good without getting annoying. She is more like the type of class instructor I go to and her classes are fun. Broken down into circuits - it never gets too much and a hard exercise is going to be over soon.No negatives. She really is good. And during lockdown I liked doing shorter more intense workouts focussing on one or two body parts each day. This meant I felt I got more out of 20 - 40 mins daily than a 1 hour class a few times a week. It’s worth putting on a stretch dvd after a Jillian workout. Maybe a 10 minute solution yoga or Pilates stretch. The reason is you’re still in fat burning mode so you’ll burn fat whilst stretching out those muscles.Update - just done Level 2 and amDripping sweat. I usually sweat more after finishing than during. Level 2 is far harder than Level 1. But it’s 40 mins so not an eternity!

Team Jillian
I'm always looking for a way to get my butt and thighs to tone up and shrink down. I've been using Jessica Smith's 10 Minute solution DVD's and they've been great but then I heard good things about Jillian so thought I'd give her a go. She's great! This DVD is so much more intense than the ones I've been doing. I gave myself a month splitting the levels into 10 days each and I've lost weight and I've lost inches off my thighs. This DVD is hard work, when I first started it I was sweating after the warm up! I thought I'd handle it better considering I'd been doing other DVD's but this work out is harder than any I've done.Jillian is likeable and pushes you to give more. You only repeat each circuit twice, once for each side of the body and just when I think I can't possibly do another jumping jack or lunge Jillian tells me its the last one and that does feel good knowing that I can do it and didn't give up.I found level 2 the hardest, the one I really sweat on as there is more cardio in this level but they all work you really hard. Level three I found some of the moves a little more difficult but not very much and there is a beginner version on all 3 levels so if your balance isn't the greatest or you can't bend so deep into the moves when following the advanced version there is modification which is great as it helps you build up to the advanced move.Jillian and her girls Natalie and Antia are all very likeable, you see the girls sweating (Jillian usually only does half of the moves with you and that's understandable as she is talking and explaining things as you go along) and the DVD hasn't been heavily edited to make the girls perfect in their moves so you don't feel so clumsy or defeated when you see them falling over or wobbling the way you do.I'd definitely recommend this work out to anyone who has the problem area of booty and thighs like I do. I have 30 Day Shred which I've just started and I can't wait to get more of Jillian's DVD's to mix and match and get the best work out from a great instructor!
