Air Dry Clay 5lbs, Modeling Clay Kit for Kids, Holiday Gift

Good price for this amount of clay. I taught my 4th grade art club to make pinch pots and they enjoyed it! Very easy to work with, dries overnight and is easy to paint over with acrylic paint once dry. for more detailed sculpting you will need to be careful- some of the kids wanted to make trees and animals and it fell apart and shattered after it dried- if you are going to do this use a toothpick for extra support as any thinner sections will just fall apart.

I’m really happy with this Crayola Air Dry Clay. My daughters love it and can spend hours making different little projects, so it has been a great creative activity at home. The amount you get is also really nice, especially if more than one child is using it. The only thing I noticed is that once the clay is completely dry, the finished pieces can be a little fragile and may break if they are dropped or handled roughly. I believe that is normal for air dry clay, though, and it hasn’t stopped my girls from enjoying it. Overall, we’ve had a great experience with it and I would definitely buy it again.

The Crayola Air Dry Clay (5lbs) is an excellent modeling clay choice for kids, classrooms, and creative projects at home. The natural white color provides a clean, professional look and can easily be painted or decorated once dry, making it perfect for a wide variety of art activities and sculpting ideas. With a generous 5-pound supply, this product offers plenty of material for group projects, school assignments, or long crafting sessions. One of the best features of this air dry clay is how soft and easy it is to shape. Children can mold, sculpt, roll, and carve the clay without much effort, making it beginner-friendly and enjoyable for different age groups. The texture is smooth and workable, helping young artists create detailed designs while improving creativity and fine motor skills. Since the clay dries naturally without baking, it is very convenient and safe for classroom and home use. Teachers and parents will also appreciate the minimal mess and easy cleanup. The clay dries into solid creations that can be painted with acrylic or washable paints for added customization. Overall, Crayola Air Dry Clay is a high-quality, affordable, and versatile sculpting material that encourages imagination.

Second time purchasing this, super easy and fun to make random things with this and cheaper than a whole class. It’s only super sticky when you add a lot of water and hasn’t stained anything. Unsure of durability as I give most of my projects away.

We really liked this clay! It's easy to mold, doesn't dry out super fast while you're working with it, and is great for kids to get creative with. I love that they can take their time shaping things without feeling rushed before the clay gets too hard to work with. We were able to make all kinds of things with it, and the kids had a blast coming up with new ideas and projects. The only downside was that once the clay fully dried, some pieces slowly started cracking, and a few ended up breaking. It was a little disappointing after putting time into making things, but honestly, it didn't bother the kids too much. They were already excited to get more clay and make a whole bunch of new creations! Overall, I think this is a great option for kids' crafts, school projects, or just keeping little hands busy. It's easy to use, fun to work with, and gives kids plenty of room to be creative. Just keep in mind that the finished pieces may crack or break as they dry, especially if you're making something thicker or more delicate. We'd still happily use it again!

This clay worked perfectly! It is easy enough for kids to mold into any creation. I used this for a science project and an art project. It's plenty enough for 1 classroom of kids (around 20 kids). It is lightweight and dries well. It took 1-2 days to dry. You can mold it with your hands or press an object in for an impression. It is very soft while "wet" and smooth and lightweight when "dry". It would be a fun gift for anyone who is creative and loves making things with their hands. I highly recommend this for parents, teachers, therapists, etc!

Crayola Air Dry Clay is a versatile and user-friendly option for crafting enthusiasts of all ages. It’s especially popular for children and beginners because it doesn’t require any special equipment to harden—just leave it out, and it dries naturally within 24-48 hours. This makes it a fantastic choice for those who don’t have access to a kiln or want a low-maintenance alternative to traditional clay. Texture & Workability: The texture of the clay is soft and pliable right out of the package, which makes it easy to mold and shape. It doesn’t stick too much to your hands, which is great for working on detailed projects. It’s an excellent medium for creating sculptures, ornaments, pinch pots, and other crafts. Kids will especially love how easy it is to handle and shape. Drying Process: One of the main advantages is the air-dry feature. There’s no need for baking or firing in a kiln, which eliminates the risks and difficulties associated with traditional clay. However, you do need to give it ample time to fully dry, and thicker projects may take longer. While it dries well, be aware that larger or thicker pieces might develop some minor cracks during the drying process, which can usually be smoothed out or fixed with additional clay. Durability: Once dry, Crayola Air Dry Clay has a solid but somewhat brittle finish. While it holds its shape well, it’s not as durable as kiln-fired clay. If you’re working on projects that need to withstand wear and tear, you might want to reinforce them or handle them with care. That said, it’s still great for lightweight decorative items, school projects, or pieces that will be used indoors. Customization & Painting: One of the best features of this clay is that it can be painted once dry. You can use acrylic paints, watercolors, or even markers to add color and details to your creations. The surface of the dried clay is smooth and easy to decorate, allowing for vibrant, personalized designs. You can also seal your finished pieces with a varnish or sealant to add a protective layer and enhance durability. Clean-Up & Storage: Another major advantage is the ease of clean-up. The clay washes off hands and surfaces with just water, making it ideal for parents or teachers supervising younger kids. Unused clay can be stored in an airtight container to keep it soft and ready for future projects, but be sure to seal it well, as it can dry out if exposed to air. Final Thoughts: Crayola Air Dry Clay is a fantastic product for both novice and experienced crafters. It’s easy to mold, requires no baking, and allows for endless creativity. While it may not be as durable as traditional fired clay, it’s an excellent choice for decorative projects and a fun, mess-free activity for kids. The ability to paint and customize finished pieces makes it even more versatile, offering a full range of creative possibilities!

Uggh so fun, cleanup is a dream, projects come oht beautiful and in my opinion it molds well. Drying it can crack but the final products are very fixable and work easy. Add a little water to your finger and boom. Dries in like 2 hours for me, had a fan on tho.
