Genuine Subaru E551SSG200 Bumper Underguard, Front

The Forester 2.5 front end seems to lack appeal and this part answers that problem. I was able to install in under 20 minutes with nothing more than a drill. Installation instructions can be found on the Subaru Techinfo website (search accessory guide under model year '14). A few tips: I cleaned the plastic with soap and water first then used the alcohol wipe and ensured it was dry before installation. The black plastic you'll be drilling into tends to flex with pressure so if possible, squeeze your hand into the opening and push down on the section while drilling. A piece of colored tape wrapped 1/2" down from drill bit tip will suffice in lieu of a drill stop.

Can’t go wrong with oem product. The only thing about this is, just be patient when you install. Comes with a template and you gotta drilll holes. So be aware. Other than that no issues looks great. Another great oem product .

Looks nice but I wish it was made of aluminum instead of plastic. Especially considering how expensive it is.

Nice genuine Subaru accessory with all the quality you would expect from Subi. Fits like it should and installs in minutes. Adds a nice contrasting look to the front end. A bit pricey for what it is, but typical markup for OEM. A couple of installation tips.. First, take care not to drill too far through the existing bumper fascia. The instructions recommend using a tape as a guide, a drill stop would be better if you have one. behind the fascia is a stamped metal support for the radiator and you don't want to damage the fins. Second- the top section of the plastic guard is equipped with 3M double sided automotive tape. Make SURE you clean the area very well- Subaru provides an alcohol pad. Not enough- I highly recommend ordering an adhesive promoter like this  3M Adhesion Promoter Sponge Applicator  from Amazon. It will work MUCH better for adhering the bumper guard. This is especially true of a new car, where the plastic oils are still weeping from the surface. Otherwise, you'll find the guard will not stick will and pop loose from the top- not to worry though, it won't fall off, it will just be loose at the top.

My review is regarding the front underguard. Here are a few notes:(1) Instructions do not come with the product but are online at the Subaru Techinfo website;(2) Installation was moderately easy - only took about 30 minute;(3) Styling looks great. Significant upgrade in my opinion.My dealer wanted $220 for the underguard installation. To be able to do it myself and save $90 was a success in my opinion.

Although the price is INSANELY high for what it is and the materials it’s made of from my point of view it’s worth it to make my “Foz” look less “Mom Car-ish” and more rugged. Installation was a breeze and it comes with the template and instructions.Word of caution - do not tighten the bolts down to what the instructions indicate as the first one I received it caused the bolt to pull out of it’s plastic housing and they are molded into the plastic from the factory. That part might of been defective from the factory but on my next unit I lessened the torque to 15 in-lbs and that seemed to work out just perfectly.Would be a 5 star review but the cost detracts a star.
