Great choice for an in home step ladder.
I don't write reviews much and don't get excited that often but when a guy finds the right tool for the job, happiness ensues and I should tell somebody. I bought this ladder to help reach high dishes, replace lights, you know the things that are just out of reach. This little latter is great and Rubbermaid has done a great job with the design. First, it's sturdy. Second, really love that it has a handle for holding on above the top step; I've used the ladder already and needed this and found it a very safe and useful feature, one that some other ladders lacked. Third, it's just the right size and doesn't require me to drag in my house ladder when I need to reach something inside the house. And to that point it fits in my coat closet so I can keep it close and get it out when needed. The folding and locking took me a couple of practice tries but they are fine and the ladder itself is light and easy to fold. I'm also realizing that it was probably designed for painters and may use it for painting the house too. I'm pleased and think you will probably be as well.

Best Step Ladder I've Ever Owned
This step ladder is lighter and more sturdy than any step ladder I've seen.Even on uneven ground this step ladder feels rock-steady. In addition to being absurdly light-weight, this step-ladder's weight distribution makes it easy to carry around or haul up and down stairs. Its center of mass and weight distribution are obviously very well-thought out by the engineers who designed it.Folds up thinner than you'd expect. The hand grip, which I originally thought would be a throw-away feature turns out to be very useful because it was well designed. Easy to use, sturdy, and effective, it makes using the highest step not only safe, but makes the highest step FEEL safe, which is equally as important. The legs are well protected by plastic which don't mar or scratch our delicate wooden floors, while at the same time is slide resistant. It opens and closes quite easily. When you open the ladder, it locks into place. There are no sharp corners or angles to scratch your hands around the unlock mechanism.I'm 5'8", and the ladder is perfect in step size and height for me. I suspect it will be perfect for anyone of "normal size".The only slightly negative comment I have is with the tray. I wish it were a little more sturdy. I also wish it were flat, although the indentations are useful to hold nails or bolts. When I rest my electric drill on it, I feel like I have to lay the drill down to keep it stable. Not a big deal, and certainly not enough to reduce this below 5 stars.I would say this product deserves the tag-line "It's worth every single penny". I'm extremely happy with the purchase. It's the best step-ladder I've ever owned.Vendor: It shipped well packed and delivery was speedy.Final grades:Aesthetics: A-Functionality: A+Vendor: AOverall Grade: A

Perfect ladder to have on hand for myriad indoor maintenance tasks!
I cannot find anything negative to say. Every point in the advertising copy and in the picture are truthfully presented as the ladder is. The third step is a 12" x 12" platform (heavy-duty black plastic) large enough for one to fully place both feet upon while performing a task. That makes standing for a long period much more comfortable than standing on a narrow horizontal "step" which does not support the entire foot.(i.e., puts the body's entire weight on just a three inch wide swath of the foot). An "average height" person could easily reach (to touch) a 9 foot ceiling. A person 6-4 or so could probably reach a 10 foot ceiling and find the third step too high for an eight foot ceiling without crouching down a little (which position would be okay for the length of time needed to change a light bulb but would be impracticable to paint that ceiling). The quality of the construction is high. The mechanism which allows the ladder to fold flat is NOT flimsy, but is heavy duty, and smooth and secure in operation. I like the way that works. It impressed me much! It's neat! I will say the same things about the approximately 11" x 11" fold-down utility tray at the very top of the ladder. In another review, someone complained that the tray used to be made of metal and has now been cheapened because it is made of heavy-duty black plastic. I found the tray more than sturdy enough for its purpose of holding tools and/or a gallon of paint. Nothing about this ladder gives any impression of other than care in design and care and quality in selection of materials and in execution of manufacture. It is also attractive in appearance. I found it very easy to work with, to move, and to store. This is the perfect ladder to have on hand for myriad indoor maintenance tasks!

The best small in-house ladder you can buy
We've had a steel three step ladder for 10 years that worked just fine. But it's a little hefty lugging it upstairs and around the house. Bought this one and it has to be a quarter of the weight - I can literally carry it around with one hand. Super sturdy, wide steps, and I like the fold out "project tray" or whatever it's called to hold tools, paint cans, etc. Liked it so much I bought a second one for the house, and a third one for the mother in law.
