I don't store mine that way, but I tried it and it is very stable, even with the cord rolled up **Q: Has anyone used this to make hummus?** A: Yes, it worked well. I used the mashed potatoes attachment. **Q: The chopper blade seems to almost puree a lot of things I use it with (i.e., bell peppers) rather than truly chop. Anyone else?** A: Bell peppers don't do well in a chopper because of their water content. Like cucumbers. **Q: How this compare to braun multiquick 5 immersion hand blender or cuisinart immersion hand blender?** A: I can only compare to the Cuisinart battery operated hand blender and by far the Braun is far superior. For the reson I wanted a hand blender, ( for making Hollondaise sauce, which requires a long blend time) the cuisinart doesn’t cut it as the battery just doesn’t last long enough. I was lucky if I could it to hold a charge at fast speed for anything over a minute or two, plus with the battery of cuisinart there are NO options to purchase a second battery and no way to open the compatment to repkace failed battery.
