Great gift for someone
I gave this to my boyfriends niece as a gift and she loved it! There are several small booklets sewn inside so doesn’t really feel like a “journal”. But was great for her because she can draw in one, write in another, gratitudes and affirmations in another.Had to dry wipe the outside though before giving it to her. Felt very grainy against hands but most of that came right off.

Embarrassingly Poor Product with False Advertising.
This is one of the worst products I've ever received from Amazon. The description refers to this journal as "handmade" and "rustic." I can believe it was handmade. The problem is that it was handmade from inferior materials by someone who has no idea how to construct a book.Let's begin with the cover. The leather is poorly tanned. It's not soft, and it smells funny. The leather itself cheap. This journal was made from cast-off scraps that were too ugly. My copy was even dirty. No, that's not a feature of natural leather. It's just dirty. The manufacturer tries to prepare you for this shoddy work by saying each journal is "unique." Yeah. You'll get different kinds of ugly cheap scraps.Let's talk about the paper. The paper is also cheap. Yes it's thick, but it's not quality. It has too much tooth and it's not particularly white. The pages that aren't bent feel like they were cut with an at-home paper cutter. Moreover, some of the paper signatures have black end pages. I have no idea why these black pages are in the journal. They're ugly, and they're just cheap construction paper. The black coloring rubs off on the facing "white" pages making them even dingier than they already were. And let's talk about that binding. This binding is amazingly crude and hard to use. Books aren't supposed to be bound this way. It's embarrassing. Each signature is held together in two spots by one cord of leather. It's like the manufacturer didn't even bother to google "how to bind a book." Hard to write on the side that doesn't have the bulk of the pages, and it won't lay flat. And now for the false advertising. The manufacturer claims that this book is refillable. It most certainly is not. You'd have to totally disassemble the binding in order to put new pages in. Your old pages would then be loose leaf because that strip of leather is the only thing holding them in. And you'd have to cut new pages on your at-home paper cutter and then cut holes for the leather strip. Then you'd have to string them through with the cheap leather strap, hoping it doesn't snap. After all that you might have some fresh pages—impractical. And even so it still wouldn't be a refillable journal. It'd just a be piece of leather that you've tied fresh paper to.Don't buy this trash.

Old World charm, high quality materials, the aroma of real leather...
I love the TUZECH Classic Vintage Genuine Handmade Leather Soft Journal. When I opened this product I was immediately greeted by the aroma of real genuine leather. The textile feel of the leather cover is authentic and conjures nostalgia from days long ago. This is an adventurer's journal and looks great displayed in an office or library. The pages are slightly yellowed and thick. Even when using a flowing fountain pen, there is no bleed through to the pages underneath. Both sides of the pages can be used without seeing any ink outlines from the other side of the paper. The binding is bundled, so individual blocks of pages can be removed and reshuffled if desired. New pages can be added if additional space is needed. The cut of the pages is uneven and lends well to the hand-made theme of it all.Overall, I am thrilled with this notebook. It would be a classy gift to a graduate that is about to set out into the world or as a personal record of one's travels. Many possibilities with this one. Highly recommended to those that appreciate Old World charm.

Authentic Feel & Smell; A Wonderful Gift to Give
This journal has that authentic leather smell to it that gives it a vintage charm. This is the sort of gift that anyone would be thankful to receive. If they are a person who is difficult to gift to, this is a wonderful solution. It is a gift they can use and will appreciate the simplicity of the design. The pages are bound in a choppy fashion and there is a ribbon attached for a bookmark. The detailing on the spine is lovely and not over the top. This journal has a substantial amount of pages and the paper is thick. It would work well as a diary, a sketch book or a mini scrapbook. The smell of leather as you turn the pages is pleasant. This is a quality made journal I would recommend, especially as a gift.

Mold smell, poor page attachment.
I was pretty disappointed with this book, the pages are loosely sewn in and it smells horrible. The cover looks durable and well made however, the pages are barely in there and, I'm worried they will fall out. The smell is very moldy and mildew, I'm unable to even leave it out of the bag it came in because of how it smells. I was really looking forward to writing in this but, I'm not sure it's safe to even breathe near it.

Nice look, but pages hard to hold open
Buffalo leather is less supple than normal leather, but even so, the leather of this journal is not too thick, so it is soft and has a pleasing leather smell. The binding isn't glued, though. The pages are in five batches of folded paper attached by leather strips, so the pages are hard to turn and hold open. A glued binding would have been better. The journal is 8 x 6 and about 1.5 inches thick. The strap closure is appealing and holds the journal closed.
