This book has everything! Loved that it has the plant name in latin and all the common names in many different languages. A concise description of the plant & where to find it is also helpful. What I love the best are the fascinating, in-depth stories of the old / historic and contemporary uses of the herb. A nice addition to my collection of herbal books. Glad I purchased it.

This book was just waiting to be written. I'm loving it's research and relevance to ancestral herbalism.Heads up, the copy I recieved has a pretty big printing error with redundant pages and pages missing in the materia medica. Hoping to get a replacement soon...

This is an amazing book. So much work went into it! I learned a lot about a tradition that’s been hidden for a long time. Worth reading for the history as much as for the herbal info. A must for herbalists of Jewish descent.

The authors cover traditional Ashkenazi healers, which is such valuable information! This book is a goldmine of value.

I have been studying herbalism in depth for more than 30 years, having first been taught herbalism at home by my mother who was an in-demand herbalist in Europe, studying and practicing in Poland, Germany, and Austria. This book is a most welcome addition to my library and will most likely be the most important study book that I have on the subject. Never before have I encountered such an in-depth, scholarly work and I highly recommend this book as it is both a blessing and a joy to read.

This is a book that absolutely fills a previously empty niche. I have found it incredibly interesting and well researched. It's presented in an easy-to-read format - very accessible. I enjoyed the history presented at the beginning of the book as well as the discussion of various herbs and plants. Would highly recommend.

there are no real photos of the plants, and the illustrations/drawings are disappointing.
