A lot easier than trying to get eight fine wires cut to length and then each into its correct hole all at once, before crimping the connector with the tool. Here the plastic core is colour coded and the wires can be inserted one at a time before cutting them to length and closing the two halves to finish the job. There is a screw collar to keep it closed but no positive cable gripper clamp, and I felt that if the plug gets tugged the cable might pull out, but so fa, so good.
