Q: Are these t-shirts or jumpers? I mean, are they meant for using a t-shirt underneath?

They are regular t-shirts meant to be worn alone. You can layer a shirt over them if it is cold. I suppose you could put a shirt under them also, but would have to buy a bigger size. Hope I am answering your question. They are really well made shirts.

Q: Are these thick material for the winter?

No not thick enough for winter. I dress my son with an under shirt - "wife beater" and a hoodie over.
