Stanbroil 10 Pounds Black Lava Rock Granules (1 1/5" - 2"), Decorative Rock

Bought this for our 14”x14” patio fire pit table and was great but I feel like we needed a bit more, I bought the large lava rocks and they were easy to sort and worked great. I just ordered another bag with smaller sized lava rocks to fill in the gaps of the large rocks. However with these large lava rocks, they were very nice and the flame was evenly spread throughout the rocks. The 1.5”-2” gave enough air/gas flow for our burner to work properly. It was a great value for these rocks and the size was perfect.

I bought 60 pounds of rocks for my 30" gas fire pit and it was the perfect amount. 3x 10-pound bags of 1.2" - 2" rocks (these larger size went around the outside border to block the gap between the 30" gas fire pit pan and the paverstone walls. 3x 10-pound bags of 0.8" - 1.2" rocks (these smaller size filled in all the spaces and gave it a perfect finished look. I have a 30" drop-in fire pit pan with a 24" gas burner. The space between the pavers is about 32" in diameter so there's a 1" gap all the way around the pan. I needed larger 1.2"-2" rocks to plug that gap and then I laid all the smaller ones over the top. The smaller rocks had a brown tint to them compared to the black larger ones (I ordered black in both sizes btw) but it looks fine.

Rock is as advertised, except for the size. Ordered "0.8 inch to 1.2 inch", but the actual rocks were closer to 2 inch in size. I just replaced the smaller rock we had with this larger rock. Works fine.

Looks good in my gas fireplace, I just bought a similar color to what came with it and it complimented the other stones well. I like that they're a little bigger than the stones that came with it so it has contrasting sizes. Overall would recommend and buy again.

Using in my home made semi hydro substrate. It's a perfect size for my plants. I mix with Leca, and it doesn't roll around .Not as dusty as some of the Leca I have used, I like it!

These Stanbroil Lava Rocks really enhance the look of the Stanbroil Ceramic gas fireplace logs. The Lava rocks give it that realistic look of a real wood burning fireplace. I recommend 10/10. Don't buy the logs without the Lava rocks. You won't get the realistic look.

At least 25% of the bags were .25 or smaller, It was supposed to be minimum of .4. I should have went up one size, or at least gotten one bag of the larger for over the burner area. I had to pick through and find enough larger pieces to cover the burners so the holes weren't blocked.

I used the red rocks for my cacti, and they look fine. I recommend opening the bag outside and rinsing the rocks first because they are VERY dusty. I would have liked to see a mix of red and black rocks. A bit pricey, but I would buy again.

Very happy with these! One 10lb bag was the perfect amount for our 43x48x24in rectangular fire table. I was torn between the light and dark rocks and I expected for these to be darker but I’m pleasantly surprised with the in-between color they came as (likely because they are dusty but I like that natural rock appearance).
