If you couldn't reuse them it would be incredibly cost prohibitive. I don't care if the bags look "a little worn" as another person commented. They are in the drawer in my refrigerator - I couldn't care less how worn they look. **Q: How long will parmigiano reggiano last?** A: I have discovered that hard cheeses like parmigiano reggiano last a long time. I've had a wedge of it in the storage bag now for several weeks and it's fine. I take it out to grate it so that I always have freshly grated cheese for pasta dishes. **Q: They don't give dimensions or volume for bags. How big of a piece of cheese do they hold?** A: They are 11x6.5x1. It will hold a flat cut of cheese but would not recommend a wedge cut from a wheel. However I do not recommend these bags if youdont eat your cheese quickly. Wax paper is cheaper and does just as good a job or good ole plastic wrap like the grocery stores use in deli dept **Q: Can these bags be used to store grated and shredded cheese or good only for storing cheese blocks?** A: I think if you seal it well, you should be able to store grated cheese. I haven't tried it though. You could also use the sheets and fold the grated cheeseinside like a butcher would for meat, but I think I'd still try the bags first, and then fold it over a couple of times.
