The best shells for the Switch Lite!
I chose to wait for Switch Lite shells from Extremerate since other brands had reports of stress cracks forming after installation. These are great quality shells. same as their normal Switch shells, which I previously bought two of. Everything fit perfectly. I did not apply the white bezel screen protector as I prefer gray.I recommend Extremerate’s Switch lite shell installation video on their YouTube channel as it goes over the whole process step by step clearly. It took me about 2-3 hours. I used a hair dryer on low to remove the screen and it was not difficult. There are lots of screws keep them organized!

From Grey, to Stickers, to True Pink device: My Switch’s Journey
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Did I seriously do this? All on my own? I’ve been saying this for the past two days to myself as if I’m in denial. Of course before I tell the whole story, I have to thank extremerate’s detailed video. It got me through basically everything.I bought my grey switch during the pandemic. Switches were sold out back then...well except for the grey ones. The color never sat right with me, so I bought a well designed decal pink switch skin from Etsy. It was good for months...but then the small peels and cracks could always show the grey that was hiding. That’s when I stumbled across extreme rate shells. Now I’ve done some small time battery changes on a laptop...but to reopen a tiny device and take all its parts out..that’s a brand new territory. But amazingly after watching YouTube videos (extremerate especially), I suddenly became extremely confident. That’s when I bought the shell and equipment to make my switch pink!I started this back in October(yes 5 months ago from writing this). Like any noob, I had some bumps along the way. A screw was already stripped on the metal plate, after I managed to take that off It was almost smooth sailing until I stripped a screw and accidentally chipped a very tiny piece of the mainboard. (Yes I was the questioner up there 😂). Mind you this was all on me though, the video tells you to take caution with each step. But after all that hard work and months in the making. I proudly showed my family my fully working PINK SWITCH. They were in awe to see it after so long too and I just can’t believe myself for being so determined to see this to the end. I also feel soo much more aware of what’s inside my switch and what’s what.Reviews aren’t lying this is indeed a “hard-mode” task and in true Tami fashion, I, a level 1 noob dove right in. But I will say this my fellow noobs, If you have the true confidence of doing this after taking a look at the videos, knowing the risks and willing to prepare yourself for the long journey...Don’t let doubters stop you!!!

My Favorite Custom Switch to Date
Holy moly this product was a journey to equip, but I did it. Roughly 1 hr and 10 minutes counting me freaking out because I forgot to secure a ribbon cable. This is not something someone with zero experience should do, but if you have the know how or are feeling very confident, it's so worth it.The exact set of images you see here are a combination of the green shell I got with the heaven blue buttons, a black bezel screen protector, and a few accessories I scored on Amazon, Etsy and Redbubble to finish the look. It all comes together and looks amazing. The shell and buttons themselves feel wonderful, but I always put a case over the shell for safe keeping and preservation. Everything fit flawlessly and I'm presently playing Breath of the Wild to make sure everything's running alright as I write this review. No issues so far! Overall, awesome product and I'd recommend it if you have the skillset to do this. Will definitely mod any other Switches I get down the line with eXtremeRate's products.

One heckin chore.
The case is very well made. It has a much softer feel than the original case. The video on YouTube to put it on in well done, but doesn’t tell you which screws to use where, and it’s not assembled in the order it was disassembled.So. I have some experience with elecitron is, but nothing this small. If you are going to take this on, you totally can. Just be prepared for LOTS of small screws, and a headaches worth of tiny ribbon cables. My case never seated quite right, but I’ll likely be the only one to notice. My largest gripe is that the colored screen part is just a screen protector that goes over your existing screen, so it sits up a smidge higher. Mine also has a small chip in it. I wish I could leave it off, but yellow and pink are not really a look to me… lol. From start to finish, it took me almost 4 hour to do, but that’s including having to take it al apart again halfway through when I dropped a screw inside . (RIP)I would recommend this. But I will also never do it again.

High quality shell! Can’t wait to see more options!
Been waiting for the extreme rate switch lite shells to come out! I have the NES version for the regular switch and know the shells to be great quality and this does not disappoint. Very high quality shell with soft touch finish. I got the black which Inherently is a fingerprint magnet, so beware about that. The tools provided worked well, and the buttons and microsd and game flaps fit well with the shell. Everything closed up nicely and there were no difficulties in screwing anything in. The extremerate video is a great guide. Did the install in 1 hour. This is for the moderate to expert modder. Difficulty 8/10 as there are a lot of parts to keep track of. I used a hairdryer on low and carefully separated the screen from the frame with the tape intact. It can be done! I cut the switch logo in vinyl and it looks pretty good. Can’t wait for the NES version!

Great shell, had some issues putting it on though, but still ok!!
Lovely case. Really soft to the touch and doesn't feel 'cheap' so to say. Had a lot of issues putting it on but that was because of the switch itself, not the case, which is why I've given it such a high rating. There were a lot of screws in my switch that I wasn't able to remove because they were stuck and drilling them out would be too dangerous (on the circuit board itself etc) so I was only able to change half the case, but now it looks like a drumstick lollipop so it's okay. I'm quite fond of the effect. All in all, the shell is lovely. It comes with tools (be careful, try and find a spare screwdriver if you can in case one of the supplied screwdrivers breaks) and lots of spare screws. (:

Amazing!
I was worried before doing this that I would end up with a broken switch, however the process went perfectly following the helpful video on how to change the shell. The shell feels really nice, quite a soft velvety texture compared to the original more plastic feeling case. There were two very tiny chips in the shell but apart from that it is really good quality and fit perfectly. The spare screws, buttons and screwdrivers were really handy.Took about 3 hours going slowly, would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking of trying it!

Wasted Money
First of all, it is not transparent CLEAR, it's transparent FOGGY, it is not the product I wanted.Secondly, it came with defects:-in the blue parts there are MATTE defects/imperfections-in the red part there is a deep scratch/crack.It is not even worth it to send it back for a refund considering how much it costs to send it to UK + the hassle during a pandemic lockdown.

nice product but broke my switch lite in the process
Item is fantastic quality the look and feel is nice and feels better in hand then to original housing however I can not stress this enough do not attempt without the correct tools I have damaged a ribbon cable even tho I was very gentle with it and now my switch screen doesn't display anything and is basically a brick. A very nice looking brick but bricks do not do anything 🙂👍

CHECK YOUR SWITCH FIRST
CHECK YOU CAN DO THIS FIRST.two of the screws INSIDE my switch had like eroded away making them impossible to unscrew so I couldnt actually do it 🥺🥺🥺you will also need tweezers, glue gun and a hairdryer.its not their fault my screws were messed up and other than that everything they sent and the video on youtube was really good 👍
