I have tried numerous Fat Ball Feeders - most are let down by the fact that the mesh is too wide, and balls fall out when only half eaten.This feeder design has been given more thought - the narrower mesh keeps the balls in, while still allowing the birds plenty of room to feed. The lid is a simple lift and drop design, making it easy to top up without removing the feeder from its hanger. Also the rounded mesh bottom design ensures that rainwater runs away easily and cradles the fat balls so that agile birds like Blue Tits can hang upside down to feed.All in all a very good, robust feeder, getting full marks both from me and my garden birds.

I ordered 2 of these feeders and have veen pleased with them so far. They hold 5 fat balls comfortably. They are all netal which makes them strong and should last for some time. Now I need to find an all metal seed feeder, hopefully that will be squirrel prove!

I’ve had them for a while now, and they’re going strong. No signs of rust. They can fit up to 5 fat balls, so they’re good for people who don’t want to put out new food constantly and for gardens that get lots and lots of birds so 3 fatball holders run out fastThe lid is pretty squirrel proof. I get lots of them visiting and they’ve never been able to open it up, although they will still nibble at the fat balls inside.Small birds like bluetits and robbins can grip and hang on to eat but so can larger birds like starlings and jackdaws, so if you don’t want big birds visiting, maybe buy one of those anti-pidgeon cages. Personally I love seeing the jackdaws.

These iBorn fat ball holders are well designed allowing easy access for birds of all sizes. They hold 5 fat balls, which is great. The birds are happy.

Small birds didn’t like these as there did not appear to be much seed in them.However the starlings love them.

Smaller holes prevent larger birds from crushing fat balls.
