Different perspective on the life of a footballer
I am a Man U fan , so now that’s out of the way, here goes. Andy Cole was a great player for Man U, partnership with Yorke memorable and still gives me chills. Most of his other life pre and post Man U I knew lightless about. It was interesting to read about his early life and how some experiences affected him. Leaving Man U was difficult and finding somewhere it felt right seemed not to happen. His personal life if interwoven with his football life and he openly shares his challenges, both mental and physical. It’s a very good read and balanced not all glamour or different. In short a pragmatic memory of someone who played football at the highest level and had and is continuing to deal with life’s challenges. For me a must read

The truth of the emotional challenge football poses very enlightening
I love the honesty of this, the self reflection of Andrew, the raw truth was heartbreaking and his strength has me in awe. This book shows there is far more to football than we non players or sports people ever imagined. The disgusting racism, the appalling disregard this man endured. What a journey, what a life, what a man, imperfection at its best learning as he traveled his journey ... May it it continue can't wait for the next one thanks for the enlightenment.

Truthfully told
The sheer honesty shared by a man I grew up watching was complete class and bravery. As a kid I idolised him and after reading his story I value him more. The book starts off with stories of his football journey to then finishing off with the absolute appreciation for what life can actually be like in a really beautiful humane way. Wish I had a chance to get the book signed from the legend himself (damn covid!)Great read

Goal machine
Great read. Really enjoyed the early and latter parts of his career. The United part of his career is already well known. Coley comes over as a determined man. Let's hope he stays well after his illness.

Good for followers of the great game of football
Read this book recently and found it easy to read. Not being a massive football fan, I found the constant football focus somewhat tiresome, though I should perhaps have expected it! For me, I would have preferred less football and more about Andy's personal life. But, for a football fan, great read!

great insight
I have always been a big fan of Andrew Cole, but of the wondered why he was so sullen & moody on the pitch. This book brings to light many incidents & explains what happened with Teddy Sheringham.A great read 👍

Decidedly average
Andy Cole had a great career told in the book in a very average way. His spat with Teddy Sheringham was quite frankly pathetic. Not a book I would ever want to open again.

When he gets the ball he scores a goal 🥅
A solid insight into one of the all time great goal scorers. Covers his on field successes and his recent major health concerns. Hope he continues to improve.
