Spigen for iPhone 12/12 Pro Case, Ultra Hybrid [No Magnet Ring][Anti-Yellowing] - Matte Black

Overall the case is really good. Snug fit. I’ve had quite a few of this style from spigen and I really like that the backs are clear to show off the color but it also has color around the lenses so the flash still works properly. If you use a totally clear case the flash will wash out al your photos really bad. The one negative about this case is the buttons aren’t really offset from the case. Can make it a little difficult to find the buttons if you’re a little unfamiliar with their locations. Even if you are familiar with them it’s still nice to have the tactile feel of an elevated button. Edit: been using this case for about 2 months and it's holding up great. Added a picture.

Fits the 12pro really well and holds it secure. Tip is if you are installing a screen protector, to try and center the protector in the middle of the screen. I positioned my screen protector too closely to the top of the screen, and the case pinches the top of the protector and lifts the protector off the screen. If I moved the protector down just like 2mm, the case would be perfect as would the screen protector. Otherwise the nice thing about this case is that it's not slippery, like the official apple magsafe clear case. Recommended for the value.

We have had a few spigen cases and now these are the only ones I will buy. The quality is great and protection is superior. This case is slim and fits great. Doesn’t add a lot of bulk but I still know my phone is safe!

I have used Spigen cases since 2015 with my iPhone 6, so I have come to expect a certain mix of quality and price from the company, and this particular product doesn’t disappoint. Pros: - Relatively low price for acceptable quality. I don’t have to pay $50 or even $20 for a case that protects the phone better than Apple’s own products. - Close fit. I have never had a loose or sloppy fit with any Spigen case, this one is no exception. - Decent bumper thickness, about 3/32” or almost 2.5mm at the thickest point. - Lip above the screen and camera lenses. Enough to keep the glasses from touching the table surface, not enough to be obnoxious. - Thin and light. It doesn’t completely obscure the slim lines of my iPhone 12 Pro. - Elastic bumper material provides decent protection from minor drops. This model is slightly thicker and springier than my usual Spigen Liquid Air, and I have never had any broken phone in that case. It’s not an Otterbox Defender though, so don’t expect that kind of protection if you’re a construction worker who is rough on his phone. - Raised corners on the back of the phone that keep the hard transparent back plate off the table surface. Con: The buttons sit flush on the sides of the case. It’s visually pleasing but functionally deficient. Finding the power / Siri button by feel is not too hard, but figuring out the volume up and down buttons without looking is not that easy. They should give the buttons a different texture rather than just marking them with +, - and PWR.

I was an early buyer of the (red) Apple 12 and figured that Apple tested its product most, so spent a premium on an Apple case. I won’t make this review about the Apple case, but it’s worth noting that the case was slippery and scratched easily … yet cost app $60. I’ve wanted to switch cases for a while, but was unwilling to spend $$$ again. When I saw this Spigen Ultra Hybrid case for app $10 on Amazon, I figured it was worth a shot. I’ve been impressed with Spigen products in the past, and this purchase didn’t let me down. If you bought an expensive case and feel ‘married’ to it, don’t. I bought the Spigen Ultra Hybrid with a clear back and black frame. The color of the red iPhone really ‘pops’ against the black border when I pick it up now, if you care about that kind of thing. It’s a tight fit, so there’s no movement. The buttons and cutouts are perfectly aligned. The edge trim of the Spigen is far more ‘grippy’ than the Apple case before it, and the buttons are better designed; easier to feel them with your fingertip, and better engineered. I use my phone professionally, and this case fits in equally well when I go formal or casual. Nothing about it is cheap or screams ‘look at me’, but it definitely let’s you show off a color device. The front and back are raised to give protection to your screen and camera lense(es). It’s front lip is a a couple of millimeters higher than a screen protector/film, so your finger won’t catch the edge of your screen protector when you swipe. There is no noticeable gap between my case and screen protector for lint or grime to get stuck in, but I guess that depends on the screen protector that you use. It’s back lip around the phone is nearly flush with the built in clear back, but the portion surrounding the lense(es) is slightly higher by app 1mm. The corners on the back are well thought out and are raised the same as the cutout for the lense(es). It’s hard to describe and a picture wouldn’t do it justice, but the effect is that if you put your phone on a table/counter with a thin film of liquid, it won’t get on your lens or device back. The raised millimeter of extra material on the back corners also adds to ‘grippiness’.

I love my Spigen Ultra Hybrid for iPhone 12. I previously had an iPhone 8+ model and loved that case, so when it came time to upgrade to an iPhone 12 Pro, I immediately ordered my Spigen. The sides are super supportive and sturdy and the see-through back allows me to enjoy the gunmetal grey color of my new phone. Its high quality at a modest price and satisfies your cover needs. Combine this with a screen protector and your iPhone is good to go!

I'm not one to buy a new iPhone with each new release. I use the phone for the basics - email, maps and as a phone! So I want it to last as long as possible. The Spigen cases are awesome. They are light, sleek and do the job of protecting the phone without being so bulky that it's annoying. I'm finally replacing the case (they do finally wear out over time!) for my iPhone 12, and using this case along with a screen protector, has kept my phone looking virtually new. Can't recommend these cases highly enough!

This is a great case. Coming from someone that drops their phone a lot, this case will definitely protect your phone.

I use Spigen back case like this one for iPhone 5s. So, I had some idea what this will look like. This one indeed turned out to be just a bigger version of that case. It is robust, fits very well and fairly decent looking. It is not very thin/slim. It will make the phone a little thick to hold but not uncomfortable. Regarding color, the completely transparent one (Crystal Clear model) that is transparent even on the borders looked very good, especially for a white color iPhone. But then, I got the impression that it will become yellowish over time. So, I chose transparent back with black sides/borders instead (i.e. Matte Black model) - that's the color I use for my iPhone 5s too and it never became yellowish, and the current case hasn't either. There is a small box like gap in the case for cameras that has a somewhat thick border which has black color for my case. For a white color iPhone, that black bordered gap at the back might look a little conspicuous. I had seen some reviews that mentioned a block spot emerging at the back when the phone is put in the case. Indeed it happened to me as well. The black spot varies in size - the more you press the case against the phone, the bigger the spot becomes. It looked very ugly and I was disappointed. Fortunately, it can be resolved - at least in my case, the spot has gone. Just tried removing the phone and putting it back in the case twice or thrice, and did not press too hard after fitting. If there was any small spot left, it just went away over time - in a few hours or so. Overall, yet another well-made case by Spigen for iPhone. May not be very slim, but otherwise works perfectly. Might be a good idea to avoid Crystal Clear (completely transparent including borders) model, and go for some other color (that is transparent only on the back but not on the borders/sides). Update: After around 2 years and 3 months, the case started to develop some cracks and bits of it started falling off. I had expected it would be more durable and was a bit surprised to see the cracks. Perhaps 2 years is the general durability of the cases. Anyway, I bought a new one - the same model and color!
