Schwalbe - Bicycle Tire Levers

These are flat out the best tire levers I've ever used. I can see where it would be possible to break these if you really tried on a particularly difficult tire, but you're exerting too much force if these break. The bead position needs to be adjusted. Less force and more fiddling with the tire. Work smarter, not harder. The tip design on these tire levers seems optimal. The tips are thin and the perfect shape to get where they need to be and do what they need to do, and they won't gouge a tube. Very ergonomic. These are the tire levers I use when wrenching on my bike at home, but they're also light enough and very compact so I can enjoy optimal tire removal and mounting on the side of the road if needed. These Schwalbe tire levers made the mounting of a Schwalbe Marathon Plus tire on the rear wheel of my old mountain bike converted into an electric bike a joy. I've recently developed an appreciation for all things Schwalbe!

I have a bike with 622 sunrims, and I wanted to replace my existing tubes and tires. I bought Continental 700 x 23 tires, and appropriate tubes. Using fairly standard levers, it was easy to remove the existing items. But I fought for 45 minutes trying to get the new tire on (just one side). When I'd done that, it was easy enough to install the inner tube, partially inflated. But putting on the second bead of the tire was very frustrating. It was easy enough to put on about 80% of the tire, but then the remaining 20% was very tight. As I tried to lever the part of the tire at my right hand, it would flip into place, and I'd be happy, only to see that the previously installed bead on the left side had peeled away. Basically, the part of the bead that was still not in place, was moving around the tire as I tried to put it on. So I bought these Schwalbe tire levers. They are fantastic. Their main advantage is that they have a central clip that allows you to leave one of them in place, acting as a third hand, when you're installing the tire. So, as you work your way around the tire, you no longer displace the already installed bead, because the lever is holding it in place. A job that took more than an hour, and was frustrating, now takes 10 minutes, and is a pleasure.

I previously destroyed a tire attempting to remove it using makeshift tools, so I decided to buy these levers. I was able to easily remove an extremely tight pair of beaded clincher style tires without causing any damage whatsoever. I particularly like the cutout on each lever for locking them onto the spokes, it frees up my hand and I can insert the next lever without it popping off. They're flexible, but seem to be made from very durable plastic. Great product, well worth it.

Finally had to use them in the field, two times in last two weeks! Worked well, these tires on my rims were super hard to mount. Removing bead was as easy (or hard) as other levers ive used. Notch to hook onto spoke works well. The great part of these levers is when installing tight beads. The reverse end has a clip the clicks onto bead that holds the bead in place as you work the head from the other side. Comes with three levers, only needed to use two. Flat profile packs compact, however they do not click together.

Best unbreakable tire levels ever made!!!!!! I've had some for at least I don't know 8 years the blue ones and have never broke one without failure they put every tire on any rim as long as you know what you're doing when you're putting a tire on a rim ! see my video! buy these tire levels if you're sick of replacing tire levers and have a groovy day

These little levers are wonderful and make changing tubes an easy task. The job I specifically got them for was changing out the wheel (which was bent). Naturally, I wanted to ensure that the tube did not get punctured in the process, and I must say that these levers delivered. Not only was the tube not punctured or damaged in any way, but the whole process went even more smoothly than I had anticipated. Using three levers (as opposed to two) makes the job much easier and quicker, and the fact that they are plastic reduces the chance of damaging your tube or wheel. These Schwalbe levers feel very strong and durable, and I don't anticipate having the replace them (maybe ever). I love the fact that they snap together, which reduces the risk of losing one and conveniently saves space. Overall, a great buy!

I wanted a smaller lever set to put in my bike bag. These fit the bill and work as intended. 10/10

These are a little difficult to clip them onto the rim, see the instructions on the package, but they really do work once clipped on. They just arrived and I used them to install a new Continental 5000 STR on a carbon rim. Using these Schwalbe tire tools it took about 6 minutes.

I watched whole bunch of YouTube videos on how to remove/install tires, but there's so much that I wound up needing to learn the hard way. I'm going to catalog some of my lessons below, but first the levers: they're good. They're light and they do what they're supposed to do. The spoke-hooking notch is genuinely useful, though unfortunately doesn't work on thick-rim wheels. I've put these through some very high tension situations and they haven't broken. When trying to get underneath a bead, it can be very frustrating that these have softly rounded edges, but that is of necessity, otherwise they'd puncture your innertube (in a scenario where you're already working with the spare, not good!) Now some lessons I've learned the hard way: --To initially loosen up a tire before you can get under it with the lever for the first time, push the bead in towards the middle, around the entire rim. --Once you've gotten started, the easiest way to get under a really tight bead is to slide into it from somewhere looser. This applies both to removal and installation. --When replacing an innertube, only pull out the bead on one side. That'll give you just enough space to shimmy out the tube and slide another one in, and it saves TONS of time to only have to deal with one bead. --Remove/install one bead at a time, start to finish. The YouTube videos say this, but they don't impress the importance of it. If you do anything with the second bead while you're working on the first bead, it makes the job so, so much harder. --A related point. When installing a tire, the bead you're *not* working with should be overhanging the other side of the rim, all the way around. Definitely not *in* the rim, or even worse, on your side of the rim. That will maximize the slack you have to work with. --When removing a tire, you don't need the levers for the second bead. Once you've got the first bead fully pulled out and overhanging its side of the rim, just push the other bead inwards towards the center of the rim, and eventually the whole thing will go slack. If you want to be prepared for a roadside flat (I had one today*), practice, practice, practice, don't let the first time you try this be on the side of the road. *I successfully replaced the flattened innertube, it wasn't the smoothest and speediest effort, but it could have been so much worse if I hadn't practiced. Then as I finally set off again, I realized that the other tire had also gone flat (both of them pinch-punctured by the same sharp edge around a sewer grate), and I did not have a second spare innertube. Bad news: taking public transit home. Good news: more practice!
