This astatic desk mic. Works very well with my stryker 955hpc+ have tried many microphones on this with not much luck. But the astatic 878dm is a significant boost in audio. Thanks 👌

I was apprehensive at first after seeing a few bad reviews but I must admit to being very impressed with this microphone...all reports from on air contacts are excellent, I could nit be happier with this micophone and highly recomend. Only minor issue is placement and type of gain control being under the base is a pain so is sort of set and forget...thank you for a great product...great price and excellent delivery.

Okay, I must start by this microphone is excellent in construction, which surprised me. Very sturdy and well built. It is compatible with my CRT6900V and works excellently (was a little afraid as one of the negative reviews said it wasnt compativle with the CRT6900N, the same radio in a different flavor. You might be wondering now, why the 4 stars? Well it has to do with the electronics. The preamplifier works wonders in carrier wave-based modulations such as AM and FM. For that, it is a 5 star mic. In SSB modulations however, it's not that good. It sounds like an old telephone/telephony system. My friends understand me well, but the audio comes out more compressed. This compression is excellent for DX, if that's your thing. But the modulation is not that great for local usage. Now, not to disencouraging you at all, as this is not something fixable by them sending a new unit, it has to do with the design of the circuit itself. If you do not want to feel adventurous, feel free to return it, your choice, I'm not anyone to tell you what to do. However... if you are like me, I can tell you straight out that depending on your radio, you just have to add a non polarized 0.5 to 2 uF (microfarad) capacitor between the ground and audio wires of the mic. You can do this on the radio itself, but since I have a digital modes rig I also use, I did this on the mic (voiding any warranty). Hints for electronics entusiasts: 2 capacitors in series have a total capacity of the sum of the capacities divided by 2. And the most important, 2 1uF polarized electrolytics joined on the negative legs of both will make a non polarized 0.5uF cap. Ceramic caps are still prefered. Do what you need with this info. Also the circuit is mostly SMB components, I don't mess with those, but I like to give a heads up to others. Cheers guys.

Ottimo microfono per CB. Ottima modulazione anche se con pochi toni bassi, ma è tipico degli Astatic da quello che ho capito. Nessun problema da segnalare.
