Good for catching Bats! Good solid quality, long handle, easy to assemble, fairly light weight, strong net. I got this for catching bats in the home and it worked.

Best option for insect nets on on Amazon. My family has gone through 3 of the cheaper metal stick handled variety and they all broke within a few months. This one feels 10 times more durable and looks legit - the netting itself is strong and won't tear easily, the handle is very rigid even when extended and it adjusts to the same portable size as other nets. Great find, recommended.

While it may work for insects, it's not effective for rescuing small birds injured from window collisions. The net does not lay flat on the ground, allowing birds to easily escape. It's unfortunate as I genuinely appreciate the quality of the netting. I selected this style due to its tight weave, which reduces the likelihood of tiny bird nails getting tangled in the net.

I worked in bird rehab for a number of years and last year a friend of mine had a nest of baby starlings that she gave me to raise which I did. I had them in my chicken coop as they were already fully feathered and just needed to be taught how to feed themselves. Occasionally one would hide in a corner and I would have to catch it to force feed it. As I mentioned this net was a bit too big for my purpose and a smaller net would have been perfect but this came in handy when another bird got stuck on my screened in porch and I was able to catch it. I also caught a flying squirrel in the net that somehow got into our house. It would probably work for catching a regular squirrel that happens to get in your house. A study net with a bigger than necessary handle but it is well made and can come in handy.

The grandkids use the net to catch minnows. They haven’t broken them yet so they are sturdy.

We spend a lot of time in the Sierras with our grandkids. We live in an area with billions and billions of "bugs." Our grandchildren can identify many of them and are learning about more. Many are agricultural and horticultural pests that are economically significant. We collect representative specimens with this net, the grands and grandpa identify them, and we display them in a collectors box. Mostly we pick up dead "bugs", but sometimes there are swarms of things, like the ones that were attracted to the light from our windows at night. They fly at high speed toward the house and go "splat" on the stucco. Having this great net allows us to collect insects easily and without having to touch them. As described. Arrived quickly and was well packed. Handle comes off for easy transport. Highly recommend.

But this broke too the ring is weak. You have to be careful with it. It doesn't qualify for heavy duty

Perfect for catching tiny fish as well!

Net section unscrews from telescopic handle as soon as you swing the net and there is no way to stop this happening. Meaning the net is completely useless.
