Item Package Quantity:5 Designed to grow and made to last. EcoSprout growing trays were designed to withstand the weight of fully watered plants in soil. We've weight tested these trays up to 30 lbs with zero failure - which became difficult for the human subject holding the trays. There are several key design features that have made our trays a huge success: 1) They bare weight without bending which often causes a huge mess; 2) The Trough/Ridge (no drain holes) design retains water making them a perfect choice for hydroponic growing, seed starting, seedlings, wheatgrass, microgreens and more. When you are done using our trays you will not need to throw them away - they will be good as new after a quick cleaning. Our trays are made from scratch here in the USA and are backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee; if you are not completely satisfied with our trays send them back for a full refund - no questions asked. EcoSprout Is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business - Thanks for your support!

I would call them "medium duty"
These are not as flimsy as a recycled deli meat tray which means not as flimsy as True Leaf trays., but they don't hold a candle to Bootstrap Farmer trays, which unfortunately seem unavailable. At this time of year we move plants in and out of the greenhouse daily. You most definitely can't pick these up with a couple of small terra cotta plants in them, unless you are also holding the pots. I literally make multiple trips with those trays so that I move the tray and then move the pots. Kinda defeats the purpose. If you have an inner structure and just use these to catch extra water, they are OK. We can get free recycled sturdy flats from our local garden center that hold, e.g., 8 small pots or 5 sections of 6 grow cells. With those maintaining the structure, I can carefully carry them out with these trays as the overflow, just so long as I make sure I'm using the inner structure and not just carrying by the tray rims. These are thin enough plastic that I had to train myself to set them down, because when I slid them into place I got several paper cuts (plasic cuts) from the sharp edges... it took me about 5 bloody slices to get trained!A couple of these trays did buckle and split when carrying a full tray of watered sprouts (no pots) and not paying good enough attention. If they twist at all when carrying, they will buckle. When they split badly enough they no longer hold water.Bummed! I miss Bootstrap Farmer!

Great trays!
These are so much better than the flimsy ones. They aren't quite as thick as the Bootstrap brand. But at this price, you can't go wrong.

Pricey and not the most durable.
Not as heavy duty as other 1020 trays. Pricey, but my biggest concern is that the channels are not connected to each other. This means that water doesn't move from one channel to the next and gets stuck in each channel once the water level drops below the surface. The orange box store had higher quality 1020 trays at a lower price.

These are WAYYYYY thicker than the ordinary ones!
I was skeptical these would actually be thicker or more durable, but took a chance that it would be the seeding tray of my dreams.....And, these trays are the tray of my dreams! I can actually carry 2 trays of well-watered seedlings, one in each hand, and they don't bend or flex! Love them! Ordering more!

Strong - great item
I just love these trays. They are nice and strong. Thick plastic. They do not crack easily. Prefect for micro greens or cell packs.

Sturdy trays that don’t wobble when moving them stounf
There are cheaper brands on Amazon. But you get what you pay for. I like the fact that they don’t leak, probably won’t crack, and will not twist when moving them around. Also they are the normal size and I can use my clear fines with them.

the only problem I have is the starter tray doesn't include base and top cover.
Very expensive but I love starting seeds. It's a fun passion or hobby. Just make sure you buy bottoms and lids. The starter tray have about 15 the bottom and tops have 5. So you wind up trying to equal out because you don't have 15 = 15. These two items have 5 of each!
