Review: Quality product to stop early blight disease in tomato plants - Purchased this because it was recommended to me in my gardening group as my tomato plants are experiencing early blight. After trimming 90% of the plant and having almost nothing left, I tried a DIY formula of dish soap, oil and baking soda, but the disease continued to attack my plants so I purchased this. The instructions on this organic copper spray say to cover the plants top to bottom, underside and top side, as well as the fruit. I did as directed and after only two days of use the blight disease seems to have been combated. I no longer have any curling leaves and no new spotted affected leaves or fruit. So far I would say that this worked and with only one treatment! Being it is premix, it’s very easy to use. The bottle did not leak at all, and the scent was not anything strong or overpowering. I like that it is organic because obviously I am spraying food that I intend to eat, and I also have pets. Overall, for the size of the bottle I feel like it is priced accordingly. I find this to be a quality product. Should anything change I will update my review. Review: Keeps fungus down and helps protect damaged or injured plants. - After the hard freeze in Florida this year, our palms were all looking very dead. I saw a YT video from a local palm tree grower that talked about how the capillaries that carry water in the tropical trees basically burst when they froze, so the plant has trouble delivering water to the cells. This damage and lack of nutritional/water uptake leaves the palms very vulnerable to fungus or rot infection which can kill the tree. I picked this up based on their recommendation and gave a good dose directly into the crown of every Roebellini palm in my and my neighbor's yard. Once new shoots started emerging, I trimmed off the dead fronds (the video said to leave the dead stuff as it can shield the core from any late freezes or UV damage to new tissue). All of them recovered with the exception of a couple of sections (Roebellinis usually have 2-3 separate tree trunks with one root ball-two of these lost one trunk). I hit the mango trees too and they are coming back slowly as well, although they took a bigger hit than the palms. I can't say for sure that this stuff was the only reason they came back, but they all look pretty healthy now so I think it was a good call. I didn't notice any obnoxious odor although I make an effort not to breathe in chemicals, but it's not nasty like some I've used. It was easy to apply, just spray it until you see some running down the area and you are good. Does that mean you can't just spray it, but have to search out every leaf to get both sides?** A: I didn't intentionally spray the backs of the leaves. I got fruit from the plants, I think just as much as I got the year before, on plants I didn't have to spray. **Q: Does this kill or harm insects/pollinators or does it just kill the fungus?** A: We have not seen negative results concerning bees or other pollinators. It does not kill any bugs, good or bad, that we have seen. You must start spraying this as soon as your plants are established or as soon as you see first signs of fungus. It was aggressive and spreading fast. I used this product as directed and also pulled off the affected leaves. While I still saw some fungus after the first application, it was definitely reduced. Here’s the twist: This year, there’s zero sign of the red fungus, and my tree is bigger and healthier than ever. Did Captain Jack’s do the trick? Maybe! I can’t say for sure if it was the spray, the winter, or a mix of both, but I do believe this fungicide played a part in getting my tree back on track. It may not work overnight, but if you're consistent and patient, this product seems to help. A solid addition to your garden toolkit, especially if you're battling stubborn leaf issues. The smell is non-toxic. The bottle spray worked well. My peach tree is now two years old, so it's still relatively small.
