Very easy to install - particularly if you have a mains wired doorbell
I'll be honest, I had a long list of requirements when choosing a doorbell:> HomeKit support (preferably Secure Video)> Mains powered> No subscriptions> Good quality night and day recordings> Quick notificationsNow I had to compromise here, there is no HomeKit Secure Video, but there is HomeKit support, and having the doorbell pop up a video on my Apple TV mid programme is great for the mid-match Takeaway. The range of voltages this can take however was the real selling point. My old doorbell was 8VA, inline with British Standard, most wired smart doorbells require at least 12VA if not 16. This can take the lot. You plug a small box in to the chime and the doorbell on the other end and it will tell you what switches to flick to get it right. There is no polarity requirement either, so you can put any wire any where and it works just fine. You even get a spare fuse incase you get it wrong somehow! Just follow the instructions to the letter. The only downside to 8VA supply is set up, particularly for HomeKit, there just isn't enough power available to complete the device handshaking, particularly if the device is fresh on the door and not had chance to charge its batteries. I would highly recommend going through most of the set up with the doorbell attached where you ultimately want it, but then when it comes to HomeKit set up, just remove the security screw and pop it off. You can power it using a standard Micro USB charger in the back, so bring it inside, plug it in to a powered Micro USB cable and complete the HomeKit set up there. It will set up no worries. Then simply remove from the power once set up is complete and get it back on your door. Worked a charm.Once set up, no complaints! I still have my working chime and also the ability to answer remotely, or even hands free via Siri or Alexa.

Unreliable technology. Would NOT recommend!
I've had the Netatmo External Security Camera for 8+ years now, and was really happy with the product (still am!), so thought that I'd add to the ecosystem with the Smart Video Doorbell.I liked the thought that, like the security camera, it didn't need a subscription service to get the full functionality - this, on top of managing both the security camera and the doorbell in one app was appealing. Sounds perfect... in theory.I originally bought a used 'excellent condition' Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell from ebay, from a seller not far from where I live. I installed it, and it worked for about 4 weeks before I started to get an 'insufficient power' notification in the app (this doorbell is wired to the mains).A few weeks after the notification, the doorbell stopped working (including the bell to the chime itself, and any ability to monitor or manage via the app), with a glowing orange LED on the bell itself.I contacted the customer service via the web page and after much back and forth without satisfactory conclusion, I decided to buy a new doorbell (thinking in some way that perhaps as I hadn't bought it new, there was some history with the unit that made it unreliable... having been very happy with the Netatmo security camera, I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt).I bought a second device from Amazon, brand new, and replaced the non-working unit - and was happy to see that it powered up and connected to the network and app. Fantastic. I now had a working doorbell!Fast forward 3 months, and the doorbell has now completely died. No power whatsoever to the doorbell (I've checked the wiring / power feed, and the circuit is good).I might add that throughout the time I've owned this product (both the original ebay bought unit, and the new Amazon bought one), the wireless connection to my router (which is less than 3 meters away) was always showing as no greater than two bars on Wi-Fi strength icon in the app, and regularly dropped out of the network altogether. When the doorbell was connected there was significant lag in the video streaming, and 2-way audio wasn't particularly good quality (for the premium price associated with the product).I've now learned my lesson, and will be switching to another product.

Not really good enough (generally slow, fails to work with Home), support almost non-existent
Pros:- Install and configuration was fairly easy (even though I needed a new chime).- Motion and doorbell notifications arrive pretty quick for me (<1 second)- At least for my doorway, the field of view, image quality, etc, is great.Cons:- As others have remarked, recording from motion detection starts too late to see the whole event- Using the Netatmo app takes 3-4 seconds at best to connect (i.e. "answer") the doorbell, sometimes longer, by which time delivery people have often walked off.- Using the Home app I can _never_ answer the doorbell. After 5 seconds of spinning there's an error. (And note that I have very good wifi, and also own a Netatmo outdoor security camera which works just fine with both Netatmo app and Home and is further away from my wifi router than the doorbell. So clearly a doorbell/software problem.)- Netatmo email support is useless. It takes 3-5 days for them to answer with "are you still seeing this problem", and when you reply with "yes", there is then no further response of any kind. Complete waste of time.Overall unless anything changes I'll be returning this and wait for someone else to release a doorbell that delivers on its promise.
