Works to some degree
I'm not sure if it collected allergens (aka pollen) and dust as advertise. I still find a layer of dust on shelves (inches from the fan) and every other surface in the bedroom. The bedroom is definitely smaller than the 500 sq. ft coverage area for the fan. Allergy season just as miserable without the fan and I still need to dust weekly. The fan and this filter does, however, pick up a significant amount of cat fur and large particles. Just seeing the difference makes in before and after filters is reason enough for me to continue buying this type. It's not the miracle I wanted for allergy season, but I don't have to breathe in whatever it catches. Check out the picture to see what I mean.
