Anthology: Best of

Good CD
Great anthology. Some of the songs are edited single versions, but this CD encompasses much of the band's carer. Only one song from 1976's MIDNIGHT LADY, though. Not much on this CD after 1974, so if you have the early albums, this may not contain much new material.

RARE in deed
Double disc value packed collection .Rare Earth the first white band to be booked by Motown ! Hard to believe that it had been forty plus years since I first enjoyed these songs . Brings back some memorable times from high school !

I think it's ok...
This item was ordered as a gift--I had no trouble with the order or shipping whatsoever, however I did not listen to the CD as I shipped it to the recipient right away, so do not have an opinion about the quality of the CD itself.

Give us the original albums!
Two stars is probably too low but I want to make a point:How I hate "edited" (=mutilated) tracks! For instance, why wasn't it possible to include the whole 18 minutes GET READY in this compilation? All we get here are a ridiculous 3 minutes of it.Similarly, KEEPING ME OUT OF THE STORM is cut off before thekiller guitar kicks in, and many other tracks are shortenedas well. Why on (rare) earth isn't it possible to release their original albums??Foremost Get ready, Rare Earth Live (one of my top 5 live albums), Midnite Lady (Wine Women and Song alone is worth your money), Back to Earth (the latteris a strange beast on vinyl; gorgeous first side, forgettable second side) are sorely missed.

A good turn on
I agree this is not the greatest collection but it's still 2 disc worth of material that has been remastered fairly well with a deluxe booklet &photos that's very informative. The product is manufactured by Universal/Motown so it does'nt have that el'cheapo look to it. For the price it's offered at it's a steal.
