I'm a little bit in love right now..
So whilst I trained to be, I am not a professional chef, just an enthusiastic amateur, and a bit of a knife geek.I have a selection of Sabatier knives currently that I try to keep sharp with 800, 1000, 2000 & 3000 Whetstones. So, whilst definitely not a pro, I would like to think myself as "competent".I had set my heart on a new set of genuine Damascus knives for my new kitchen, only to discover the money had run out after the new hob.I happened to buy the Mosfiata Damascus effect bread knife as I never had a decent bread knife and thought it would be a good stand in. Wow! what an impact that knife had on me, full tang, well balanced and definitely well made.I have always wanted a beautiful Japanese folded steel knife, but having always used Western style knives never took the plunge to retrain my skills. So when I saw this after my bread knife purchase I decided to try it.It is just lovely. It arrived blisteringly sharp and easily passed the paper test. It is wonderfully balanced and very nicely weighted. The blade has a lovely subtle curve on the tip that lends itself to vertical and rocker chopping. Some reviews have complained it isn't sharp enough... mine was, but even if it isn't you need to learn to sharpen a good knife, otherwise spend £20 on a Chinese no-brand.No, of course it isn't a real Damascus knife - it is < 20% of the price!!!! So stop moaning about that. If you want a real one stop whining and pony up the £160++ to get a real one. The laser etchings are however subtle and inoffensive. This is a lovely lovely knife that I have just used to make dinner tonight, well balanced and a pleasure to hold and use. I do still covet the the original Japanese steel, but boy this is a lovely standin.

Great knives
I really like these knives. They look the part and as long as you keep them sharp they cut really well. All my kitchen knives have now been replaced with other knives of the same make

Surprised
I had a problem on receiving this knife, I contacted the company customer service, they were very prompt in responding, they replaced the original knife at no extra cost to me and it turned up 2 days later. Let other companies take note this was customer service at its very best.I would recommend buying from this company, I think it was a one off that happened to me.But cannot wait to start using this knife, and it feels very sharp.

Put through paces in professional kitchen
The knife is well balanced and feels surprisingly light for it's size, is also a dream to hold because of the ergonomic grip. I can use it for hours without tiring. It holds it's sharpness well too.The blade shape took me a while to get used to have I haven't used a nakiri before but I use it for basically everything now.Despite it's size, it doesn't feel clunky, the blade is sharp and I can work precisely with it.The reason I gave four stars over 5 is that the blade steel feels quite soft, and if not cared for properly will be corroded by acidic foods and prone to rust, so it needs to be treated with care and respect.Overall this is great value for money and a good quality knife

Great for my sourdough
Great bread knife, we’ve been struggling with a very old serrated knife for a while now and as I have started baking my own sourdough bread , felt it was time to invest in a nice new knife. It was a good decision. Already have the same brand of chef knife so knew it would be good. Arrived in a presentation box with a lovely dough scorer! Very pleased. I have no negatives so it gets full stars. Thank you

Beauty and function; high quality
This is a fabulous addition to our knife collection and merits a review. Beautifully crafted full tang steel blade with pretty decorative scrolling that echo some of our expensive Japanese folded carbon steel knives, but this one never tarnishes and you don't have to dry it immediately! With constant use, this is a must. Smooth finishing on the comfortable wood grain effect handle with inlaid brass flower details inset on the handle -- a lovely and unique touch that shows some craft went into the design. Now our go-to bread knife as the serrated blade tapers off thinly enough to cut smoothly without ripping handmade breads apart but has enough oomph and girth at the top, providing ballast to get through a crispy sourdough crust. Well worth it and well priced compared to the household names where you're paying a premium for advertising rather than paying for a premium item.
