I absolutely love salt and this I use in particular to grind salt for my morning coffee. I had a different one and it was good but the container portion broke. This one seems to have a much more robust container, so the hope it that it might hold up to my abuse.This has good control over grind size. For reference I use alot of Redman's real salt and works great.

I had a pair of battery-powered grinders that finally gave out as they always do. Maybe someday someone will make electric ones that are worth having, but I haven't seen them yet. These are sturdy, and a good size for cooking or table use. I love the hand-cranking mechanism. Seems to be well made and can generate a ton of ground salt or pepper quickly. The grind size adjustment is easy to use and you can change it on the fly so you always get what you want. So far these are the best manual salt and pepper grinders I've had.

The product works well, holds a lot of peppercorns, has adjustable grind, is easy to turn. On negative side, the adjustment ring loosens and feels loose when you set it for coarser grind, and it's hard to tell if the metal-looking parts are metal, but there are plastic parts inside in the mechanism. I was also surprised that it was larger than I expected, which is fine for what I wanted to use it for: cooking. It produces a lot of pepper quickly, but not as much as the all-metal zassenhaus products (which are also at least 4 times more expensive!). Filling it with peppercorns is easy. I wish that the case was rougher in situations where my hands are wet or oily, but most grinders have this problem. Overall satisfied!

This is the grinder I've been hoping to find for years, now. It is very well built and smooth to operate. I've been using it for 2 months now and the only problem I had was the first time I used it - the grind adjustment level didn't change due to the spring not pushing one of the pieces out. I think that was just due to it being at one level for a long time in the box before I bought it. After I poked at it with my finger, it popped out and has been working well since.It hold a fair amount of pepper and I wanted one that I could crank instead of the ones you twist the top of. This cranking mechanism works fantastically. And the crank handle rotates freely instead of being a fixed piece like my old one; not a big deal but it was a nice touch. At first, I thought it wasn't working because of how easy it felt to crank - like it wasn't doing anything. But the pepper comes out great and I've had to refill the thing a few times already.

This is the best pepper mill I've ever used. The handle and the gearing make it very easy to turn, no matter whether you have it set to fine or coarse. The only thing that's even a little difficult is that after you twist the top off to reload the peppercorns, the loading hole is less than an inch across. I have to be careful to get the peppercorns into the hole instead of all over the counter.All in all, I'm really glad I bought this, and recommend it highly!

I bought two of these, one for salt and one for pepper. They work so good and love the good sized knob for turning, unlike most with such a small button to turn.Seem to be good quality except one of them is starting to squeak when I turn it and I've only had it seven months. Hope it doesn't get worse to where it won't turn. Maybe there is someway to oil it?

I had it for eight months before it broke. The grinding mechanism has pushed out such that it no longer grinds as desired (it produces a very coarse/chunky grind regardless of which setting it is on). It also no longer sits evenly on a table. I had not expected a pepper grinder to break after eight months, so while the design is useful, I would look elsewhere.prior review:I originally ordered the smaller version and then returned it because it could only produce a fine ground. This pepper mill is superior in many ways, including the grind options and the open/clear design. If you are debating about this one, get it, you won't be disappointed.

I seriously looked at 20 different salt grinders for my kitchen, I wanted one to match a vintage pepper grinder Mill that I had but was unable to do so. So I purchase this item and was so happy with the different settings for the salt brine from fine to course. This item works extremely well in the gearing on the crank handle our Optimum for its use and purpose. Even in a humid environment this grinder does not clogged it remains clear free and easy-to-use. The ergonomic design of it fits all hands and functions so well.
