## Description

A strategic card game. A role-playing adventure. A dangerous new world. Here To Slay is a fast-paced, easy to learn game that is perfect for all skill levels, whether you’re just entering the world of role-playing games or honing your masterful skills. The game was one of Kickstarter’s top 50 most backed projects of all time and is one of Pop Insider’s best geeky gifts of 2020!

Review: Slay your own way - Here to Slay was purchased on a whim because I liked the art and thought it looked cute. Turns out it's been a solid purchase. My husband and I are always looking for good two-player games that can be played with more people. This one manages to be fun and a little bit challenging while also being good as a two-person game. It's also not overly time consuming. There's enough strategy and card variety that every game plays a little differently. It helps that the design of the game is colorful and cute. I also like that there are several win conditions (slay 3 monsters or assemble a whole party of 6 character types) since it means there's multiple strategies to winning. It's as fun for 2 as it is for 6. Great game.
Review: A Fun and Strategic Card Game for the whole family - I recently picked up Unstable Games - Here to Slay, and it has quickly become one of our go-to games for game night! If you’re a fan of strategy, humor, and a bit of friendly competition, this is a must-have. 1. Easy to Learn, but Strategically Deep The game is really easy to pick up, which is great for both beginners and more experienced gamers. The objective is simple: build your party of heroes and monsters while trying to be the first to slay a monster or be the last one standing. However, the strategic depth is where it shines. You need to think carefully about the cards you play, how you build your team, and when to take risks. 2. Fun and Unique Characters The game features a variety of fun characters (heroes and monsters), each with its own abilities and quirky personalities. The cards are full of humor, which makes gameplay even more enjoyable. My friends and I have had a great time making funny combos and using special abilities to outsmart each other! 3. Great Replayability Every game of Here to Slay feels different thanks to the random nature of the cards. With so many different heroes, monsters, and abilities, no two games are ever the same. It’s easy to see this becoming a replayable favorite for our group. Plus, the base game already has a good amount of variety, and there are expansions available if you want to add even more content. 4. Fun for 2 to 6 Players This game works well whether you’re playing with just a couple of people or a larger group. It’s easy to scale, and the dynamics change based on how many players are involved, making it fun for any group size. 5. Quick Play Time Another great thing about Here to Slay is that it doesn’t take hours to play. A typical game lasts between 30-45 minutes, making it perfect for a quick game night or as part of a longer game session. Final Thoughts If you’re looking for a strategic card game that’s easy to learn, fun to play, and offers a lot of variety, Unstable Games - Here to Slay is an excellent choice. It’s a perfect blend of strategy, humor, and excitement that everyone can enjoy. Highly recommend it! Pros: Easy to learn, but plenty of strategic depth Fun, humorous characters and abilities Great replayability with varied gameplay Works well for 2 to 6 players Quick, fun game time (30-45 minutes) Con: Can be a bit chaotic with larger groups, but that's part of the fun!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I've got an 11, 9, and 6 year old - any thoughts if they'd be able to handle the mechanics of the game without getting bored?**
A: Ours are 5 (not reading yet), 7, and 9 - they love it! The 5yo usually wanders off, but he picks someone to "play with" and we read the cards to him so that he can be included. The 7 and 9 year old are OBSESSED! We also play a lot of games, and they picked up the game mechanics super quickly.

**Q: Is this different than Unstable Unicorns, or same type rules and gameplay?**
A: Similar with expanded rules. There's more than one way to win (build a full party, or slay so many monsters). The Neigh cards are gone and replaced with challenge. Now you actually have an opportunity to win the challenge (by way of die roll). It's not just unicorns! Each class is represented by a type of animal (bears, canines, felines, unicorns etc.).

If you like Unstable Unicorns you'll enjoy it!

**Q: Can the leader cards fit in toploaders?**
A: I do not believe so. The leader cards are a larger size than the typical card size.

**Q: can be played with the 2 expansion at the same time?**
A: yes you can play with both expansions at the same time. I believe it was intended to be done this way.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun for everyone - Addictive - Near limitless fun!
*by C***R on September 4, 2021*

Howdy All, I'm going to start off by saying buy the game. The base game AND the expansion are very much worth it. If you are sitting there debating it, don't. Literally get this game if it does interest you. I was the same way until I bought then played with with friends/family. It's is very fun once you do a few rounds with the rules. I'll give a few simple drop of Pros/Cons. Before I start I wanted to explain that even with the Cons the game is still very enjoyable. Pros: ==== - In-depth rules that explains ever in/out of the entire game +has little handy rules reference cards for each player to look to for shorthand explanations for their turn. - Simple but lovely designs for the different Classes/Animals/ Monsters. - Relatively short gameplay session ( 30-60 minutes ), could be longer if there are more people. - Playing with 2 players can work without much issue. - Children of all ages can play this, Played this with ages ranging from 3ys-60yrs. So yeah you can play this with literally anyone. - Gameplay is enjoyable as you have a lot of options for how you want to run your party + strategy to weaken/set back other plays while trying to win yourself. - Difficulty to reach via dice rolls ( +, - ) are reasonable, and do come with risk/reward. Cons: ===== - The Modifier cards can stack which can make the difficulty curve for rolls for Monsters/Challenge cards higher or lower depending on who it is targeted at. Not necessarily a too bad thing but it can get annoying real quick. - Challenge cards go hand, and hand with the above. Two players who are in a challenge roll then use their modifiers to boost or decrease the rolls is fine, but outside parties who were not apart of the initial challenge card can affect dice rolls as well as use their modifier which can be played at any time to effect rolls for other plays. This is more of a personal gripe which can be solved by using a house roll but can be annoying. - Limited characters/ Customization. I love this game, I wish to make this super duper clear, I love playing it whenever I get the chance. I do need to say that on the box + in the above product's description it does say you can customize your own party leader card from their website - this is true. I do wish they would let you design your own party cards as well other than the party leader as I think it could give more creativity to the game and make for some good counters etc. The art and current classes/animals are all super well designed, and balanced as most have a good counter. - There is not another expansion! Jokes aside, I do wish they could come out with another expansion as there are a lot of opportunities for classes/animals to use. - Lastly as I stated in the first bullet of the 'pros', the In-depth rules. Holding the rules next to me as I type this I recall the first time I laid eyes on this bad boy. It opens up to be a mini-poster of rules that while in-depth in detail about how to play, it can be a lot when you first open it up fully. There is a front/back that you need to read which is fine but as I said can be a lot. During my first 2-4 games of playing, you do need to look back towards the rules when debates over how a card is to be played or to check for trivial info until it sort of clicks. That being said most games will have you doing that so that isn't the biggest deal in my opinion. Playing with younger kids can be difficult due to the amount of rules but reciting it a few times, checking rules and you should be fine. I don't write many reviews but I felt I just had to gush about this game, a tad biased probably due to my enjoyment but I do truly love this game. Hope these help with your decision, and hope you try out this fun card game.
