Does exactly what it's supposed to and seems well built. Doesn't at all feel cheap, and it's super easy to set up (just tighten the bolts). Awesome product. Someone remarked that it doesn't have any measure of angle, which is true. It would be helpful, but it's all going to be relative anyway - the "actual angle" of your legs will depend on how wide they are. That is to say that the same machine in the same position will stretch to different leg-leg angles depending on your anatomy. With the exception of 180 degrees straight (which would still be subject on the machine to leg thickness) there's no good way to assign a meaningful angle anyway. Instead, I count turns on the wheel, starting from as closed as it will go so I have a consistent reference point. It's comfortable, and really nice that the wheel is removable, should you want to pop a book or keyboard in front of you and read or work while stretching. That said, stretching on a machine like this won't really get you too much more flexible - you have to do active movements for that. What it will do is help you lock in the flexibility you gain and track your progress (by counting turns). In 6 weeks it has helped me get from groin at 12" to 6" off the ground (in true straddle) so far. My only negative is that there is a bit of a gap at the bottom of the thigh pads, particularly as it gets taller toward the foot. This allows the leg to kind of sink into that space if you're not careful. I may make another inner leg pad to put in the holes, but the main components of the machine are terrific.

I really don't understand any of the low-rated reviews here: this is a great product! To all the complaints saying "this isn't fully assembled", I have one word for you - seriously? It's 99.99% already assembled. You literally just need to just hand screw the bolt fastener and put on the leg holders and you're done. It's not even a 30 second job. Secondly, regarding the wheel being stiff, it is true that it is true. As the other reviewers have mentioned, they include a small bag of grease to lube the large bottom screw that connects to the turning wheel, but I didn't even bother to use the grease. Instead, use some WD-40 and then spin the wheel around a bit. It works 10x better than the grease and is probably way less messy too. Finally, regarding the complaints about this machine being "biased" against short people, I also am having high doubts about that. I am 5'10" (2 inches above the national average for males) and while I'm not tall, I'm a very good example of an average guy of average to slightly abov average height. The leg stoppers have two positions that you can choose from so whether you're 4 feet tall or 7 feet tall, this machine should fit you regardless. For at least $25-30 cheaper, I really don't understand why you would get a more expensive split machine. It's well made, it is backed by Amazon prime, it's easy to use, and it gets the job done. I will use this machine for a year and I will get back for an updated review. In the mean time, I have no qualms about this split machine! It's cheaper than it's competitors and is just as good. UPDATE: Having used this split machine for over a year, I have now gotten my splits (and now I'm working on my oversplits!). Good product and is solid. Every few months of regular use, I'll need to fasten the bolts just a little bit, but that goes with any product that has nuts, bolts, screws, etc. Would recommend!

Wow! Excellent product. There was NOT a single thing wrong with this machine. Maybe quality control vastly improved from past negative comments as the construction, metal welds, bolts, gears, seat, pads, bolts and even the self locking bolt nuts were of high quality! I was expecting a shoddy machine and what I got is high quality with strong metal!!! And it works smooth and so easy to use! I have my own welding machine and metal and fabric and to make something like this would take me a hours upon hours and a few hundred dollars so this machine is extremely well priced!! The only thing I did was tighten all the nuts, however if you do not have tools don't worry about it as it wasn't needed to function correctly. I also added grease to the gears which came with the product. The only thing needed to assemble was to remove one bolt from the seat and insert it into the frame. Nothing else was needed to be done so it took 2 minutes to set it up. I also greased the front gears in the screwed shut gearbox as I have three people using this daily. However, that was just a precaution to help the gears last longer and probably not even needed. I checked every weld and piece of this equipment and it is awesome. Enjoy! Oh, and I wrote this while sitting in it the entire time, as it is very comfortable.

When I first received the product I was very disappointed to find that it was cheaply made and, for some reason, the nuts and bolts were not tightened even though leaving them loose saved no space in the packaging whatsoever. The instructions did not say anything about which bolts were to be tightened and which were to be left somewhat loose. I was able to figure out, for the most part, which ones were which, but the result was that I never quite felt like I had the bolts tight enough in some places or loose enough in others. One bolt in particular is loose, but there's no way to tighten it (I'm 230lbs of muscle and I WRENCHED that thing as hard as I could). This causes the unit to be fairly wobbly when being used. Additionally, the two leg pads did not fit into the holes allotted due to a machining error that caused excess metal scrap to accumulate inside the holes. Needless to say, I was very unhappy at first. After calling the manufacturer and being sent a new unit (they were very helpful and pleasant to deal with) I found that the leg pads of the new unit fit nicely into the holes allotted, which made me feel much better about things. However, I had the same problem with that one particular bolt that was loose but unable to be tightened which causes the unit to feel very wobbly when being used. I've only just recently been sent my new unit and the wobbliness and general "cheap" feel to the parts that are used make me somewhat concerned about how it will hold up in the long run. Here's the thing, though - it works. And it's very comfortable. My previous groin stretch machine was a Century brand, and compared to that brand this is MUCH better. You definitely want a unit that utilizes the wheel as opposed to the crank in order to expand the legs because, 1. the crank will eventually break and 2. it's a MUCH more comfortable stretch due to the fact that you can expand the legs in one smooth, continuous movement as opposed to short, jerky movements. The other attribute that this machine has that makes me give it four stars is the fact that you have the option to put the leg pad down by your shin instead of right on your knee. With my Century machine, and it seems most of the other machines on the market based on the pictures I see on Amazon, the point of pressure is always directly on the knee and that hurts! You'd think the padding would be enough to alleviate the pain but, for me at least, the inside of the knee is so sensitive that it just kills no matter how well padded the unit is. I would tell anyone to get the Valor machine based on their unique design alone, because the pressure on the knee is a SERIOUS drawback to machines that don't offer the ability to put the outward pressure down by the shin where it belongs. Ultimately, its drawbacks are that it's cheaply made and feels very wobbly, but it's advantages are that it offers a smooth, comfortable stretch that doesn't place pressure on the knee and it's about $50 cheaper than the nearest competitor that uses a wheel-based design instead of a crank-based design. You'll know how the manufacturer is able to save you the $50 the moment you open the box, but then again, who cares? It's just a groin stretch machine, and a very comfortable one at that.

I was expecting to assemble a lot more than I had to, which is a plus. But there was a lot of issues. The wheel on one of the legs wouldn't spin because the frame was pinching it. That was quickly fixed. Then after all of the bolts were tightened I went to put the wheel that cranks the worm gear but it wouldn't go on without sanding the spindle to actually make it round. I eventually got it to go so I hopped on and began to use it. The pads were initially positioned up close to the knees, so when I decided to move them into the other positions by the ankle I ran into another problem. There was weld splatter on the inside of the female connector that prevented the pad from being inserted all of the way, so I had to go back to work to try and remove it. All appeared to be fine and dandy after that......until the pins on the gears fell out and jammed up the worm drive from being able to move in either direction. Now I'm returning this one with the hopes of getting a better quality one next time. I honestly wanted to replace it with a different brand but Amazon doesn't have any other brands in stock, as they are being sold by third parties. I got it for the worm gear and the adjustable leg pads, but the quality clearly isn't there in this product.

I researched these machines for several months and I am satisfied with the choice I made. I have been able to get far better stretches than I ever did alone or with a partner. After 2 weeks I can already feel a difference. There's very little to assemble. I only had to assemble the back rest and leg pads. Before using the machine, spend $5-10 and go buy some lithium grease. Be sure grease both worm gear and rod. I makes the machines movement much smoother. I'm 6'4" 250lb and the machine is sturdy and comfortable. The padding is much thicker than I had anticipated. I read some comments about the worm gear stripping out. From what I've observed; as long as you do not force the machines movement, I do not see how the gear can strip out. This machine should last for years as long it is lubricated regularly and not abused.

A whole lot of dum dums out there. All these morons complaining about “gears wearing out” have no clue how stuff works. There is a worm gear and 2 teeth gears that drive this machine. They touch and rub each other. THEY NEED GREASE!!! If you don’t grease them, you’ll have metal on metal contact and they will wear out. Just like everything else ever made with sliding metal on metal contact. The thing works fine, you may have to tighten some bolts when you get it and DEFINITELY need to grease the gears and worm drive. But other wise it gives me a damn good stretch and it’ll last a long time if you are not an imbecile.

This stretcher is very easy to assemble and use. I had some issues with the gear drive wearing out. I made the mistake of reading reviews on the product after I had problems and found many people have had the same problem with the gear stripping out and they complained about the customer service. I contacted them directly over the phone after looking on their website. They were more than willing to help me out and sent me a whole new gear drive and frame. I just had to send proof of purchase with pictures and a quick video showing the issue, quick and simple.

I purchased this stretch machine to give me the extra push I need to complete the full side splits . It is a very useful machine if you don't have a partner to stretch with . Stretching on the ground is still really good to do so I wouldn't rely on the machine too much when trying to become more flexible, just using it in moderation is good. . Also to make sure you have warmed up a lot before use it will help in furthering your progress and prevent injury .This is a great machine to help with my taekwon-do flexibility

We purchased a cosmetically damaged one, and it showed up with only a tiny dent that effects nothing. Well worth it for the money we saved. Our biggest question we had was how far past 180 could it go, and it goes waaaay past 180. You could almost touch your feet behind you. We added alittle padding to the metal parts that touch the floor to avoid scratching the floor, but other then that it was easy to assemble and works great.

Received this in good condition. Minimal assembly required to get it fully set up. First trial was to see how far it actually spread apart and it is > than 180 degrees of movement. Found the gear assembly a bit tough to turn but upon packing up the box found a small bag with a blob of grease in it. No instructions note that it is there or what it is used for. Applied it to the screw spindle and worked the gear box over it a few times to spread it out along the length of the spindle. This removed the stickiness in turning the gear assembly wheel. Overall, the product is good and sturdy to sit on. The drop of a star comes from the following: 1. Leg pads could do with a locking mechanism as I move the unit in and out of a storage room. They just drop into round holes and can fall out if carrying and tilting the unit to go through a doorway. Same goes for the seat adjustment which a steel flap drops into gaps between raised ridges. Upon picking up and moving the unit, the seat flip-flops as there is no tension on the seat back to hold it in position. 2. The overall motion in spreading is not as smooth as I would have expected. There are points where when turning the wheel where both legs move, one leg moves, the other then moves and in some cases there is no movement for a portion of the wheel turn. However despite that, once the legs do move, the position is locked and there is no play in terms of the leg assembly. You must rotate the wheel the other direction to ease off. Despite the above, the device does do what I purchased it for which is to safely extend the legs to allow for me to improve my flexibility.

Not a bad machine, minimal assembly, it gets the job done and has good quality seating and pads but the gears are a bit rough sometimes.

I'm very impressed . Every thing came assembled and very easy to used. I recommend this product to any one that needs help with stretching. Great for a gift to . I would be externally greatfull if I had this gifted to me =)
