Ray Thomas is a class act!
I was overjoyed when I received "Hopes, Wishes & Dreams". I purchased this album many years ago. I have "From Mighty Oaks" (his first solo album) as well. It is even better than "Hopes Wishes & Dreams". His best tunes on this cd are his slower, more mellow songs. I love "Migration" and "We Need Love", among others. And "The Last Dream" is opus!If you love the Moody Blues of the classic years- "Days of Future Passed" through "Seventh Sojourn"- then you know that Ray Thomas was a founding member of the group and wrote some of their early classics like "Lazy Day", "Dear Diary", "And the Tide Rushes In", "For My Lady" and his Moody Blues opus "Legend of a Mind". Oh yeah!!!!!Well, his two solo albums were very fine indeed and caught some people by surprise. Check them both out! Enjoy.

Review of the CD version of the Ray Thomas album "Hopes, Wishes and Dreams"
Review of the CD version of the Ray Thomas (former member of the Moody Blues) "Hopes, Wishes and Dreams". Ray Thomas has once again shown why he was such an integral part of one of the greatest of all of the rock and roll bands since the very invention of this genre of music in the early 1950's. The songs are wonderful and the performances were definitely in keeping with the quality of the songwriting.

Ray Thomas "Master Moody Blue"
I have waited for this album to be released on CD literally for decades. If you are a true Moody Blues fan you NEED this CD. There are many beautiful songs with great Moody Blues -like orchestration that you will be so happy that you discovered this "lost Treasure" by Ray Thomas who was such an integral part of the group. Pay particular attention to the song " Didn't I" the music and the lyrics of this love song with the amazing trumpet solo in the middle of the song will blow you away. Believe me you won't be sorry- stop reading reviews and just buy it if you are a Moddy Blues fan....You'll be so glad that you did..........Good Luck

Hopes Wishes & Dreams
Ray was the melody for the Moody Blues. As usual, his style is to provide a story. I feel that though this is not his best effort, ("From Mighty Oaks" is) this is still an excellent album. I have the original vinyl record.Jerry Wagner

I damaged my vinyl long ago so was delighted when it was re-released on CD
I am a lifelong Moody's fan and have had this album on every format. I damaged my vinyl long ago so was delighted when it was re-released on CD. It is the better of Ray's two albums, in my opinion, and, although, like me, dated, it still pleases me greatly to hear it.

Had this as a cassette way back when - Ray's solo work often overshadowed, perhaps unjustly so!

Fantastic! Just what you'd expect from one of the Moodies!
We originally had this on cassette but the remastered CD is fantastic! Ray Thomas has the most wonderful voice and his rendition of The Last Dream is so touching, I love it! Firm favourites with us are also Migration, Friends and We Need Love. If you like the MoodyBlues you'll love this. From Mighty Oaks is another fave CD by Ray Thomas and I recommend you to check that one out too!
