Packaged in a 1-pound bag, this product can be mixed with water to yield 5 to 6 pounds of fresh poi. The powder is made from taro, a staple in Hawaiian cuisine, and offers a smooth, creamy texture and mildly sweet flavor. It’s a great addition to various dishes or can be enjoyed on its own as a nutritious side. Just add water, mix to your desired consistency, and savor the taste of Hawaii! Perfect for anyone looking to experience authentic Hawaiian flavors easily. Review: I want to eat all of it now! - It's freeze dried, not fresh. That's a reality and we have to accept that otherwise you bein' lolo. That said, it's better than I expected. I follow the directions for microwave, add mo' water, get it to tree finga' then let um sit the rest of the day, maybe getting a little biological activity going on, and suck 'em down the next day. By that time, no grittiness and the taste is more lively than the first day. Maybe takes time for the mana to wake up, being freeze dried can't be easy. There's a little sweetness, but mostly it calms that ache in my heart. The first bowl gave me a good cry, for my grief at leaving, but reality is poi is heavy, expensive to ship fresh and WE were the ones that chose to leave. Review: It's NOT flaky ;) - Some of the reviews said the consistency of this poi is "flaky". I have to disagree on that, it's not. Of course when you first mix it with water, it IS flaky, but the instructions clearly say you need to cook it... After a few minutes of cooking, it gets smooth and "slimy" like fresh poi, and at the same time the flavor also becomes somewhat tangy. It may not be the best there is, but it's good enough. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B008NXX7VA | | Age Range Description | All Ages | | Best Sellers Rank | #249,015 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ( See Top 100 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ) #1,121 in Flavoring Powders | | Brand | Taro Brand | | Brand Name | Taro Brand | | Container Type | Bag | | Cuisine | Hawaiian | | Customer Reviews | 4.0 out of 5 stars 218 Reviews | | Flavor | Hawaiian Potato | | Item Form | Powders | | Item Weight | 0.46 kg | | Number of Items | 1 | | Package Information | Bag | | Package Size Name | 1 Pound | | Size | 1 Pound (Pack of 1) | | Unit Count | 16 Ounce | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Taro Brand - **Flavor:** Hawaiian Potato - **Item Weight:** 0.46 kg - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Package Information:** Bag ## Images ![Hawaiian Poi Powder 1lb Bag - Makes 5 - 6 Pounds of Hawaii Poi - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41I8oiim+9L.jpg) ![Hawaiian Poi Powder 1lb Bag - Makes 5 - 6 Pounds of Hawaii Poi - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41rWxC2MiyL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I want to eat all of it now! *by P***E on September 15, 2025* It's freeze dried, not fresh. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not as expected. *by P***F on July 24, 2019* Looking at the possibility of non-frozen poi was a good thing. But the powder was ok but was not as effective as the real thing. It had some of the flavor but the texture was not as expected. Will try again. ## Frequently Bought Together - Hawaiian Poi Powder 1lb Bag - Makes 5 - 6 Pounds of Hawaii Poi - Hawaii's Best Hawaiian Haupia 2 Pack - Hawaii's Best Luau Pudding Squares 8 oz (16 oz total) - Luau Pudding Squares for Haupia Pudding, Haupia Pies and Cakes - Kauai Tropical Syrup Hawaiian Instant Kulolo Luau Taro Pudding, 5.6 Ounce --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/2331644-hawaiian-poi-powder-1lb-bag-makes-5-6-pounds-hawaii](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/2331644-hawaiian-poi-powder-1lb-bag-makes-5-6-pounds-hawaii) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
