CNMS0056 3/4"" Black Malleable Iron Straight Left/Right Coupling"

I don't mean to insult anyone who has already reviewed this item, but I wonder if any of you even understood what you were purchasing? The threads are supposed to be reversed on one side - that's the whole purpose of a left/right threaded coupling and the item description clearly states that the threads are reversed on one side. This item, along with a nipple that also has threads reversed on one end, provides a place where you can take apart a part of your pipe without having to dismantle the whole system. It's an alternative to a union. I'm using it for a gas line so that I'll have one 4" nipple that can be wrenched out to re-route the last leg of the gas line when I relocate my kitchen in a year or two. This item is exactly as described and I had ZERO problems with it.

If You Know You Know!

I got this and I also got a set that came with a nipple. I haven't installed them yet, but to have this work as a union, *I think* you also need a nipple (a short length of pipe) with right threads on one end and regular threads on the other.

Perfect order and price and delivery

As others have noted, the right side threads work perfectly. The left side threads are misaligned, making it very difficult to attach a pipe. I do know how to use a left-right coupling, so I'm not the issue. I ordered two and ended up returning both.

We used 4 of these as feet for an industrial-style desk. They were easy to thread onto the pipe, are flat against the floor, and look great!

Item was cross threaded. I tried multiple nipples and could only get one end to thread. I thought initially that I may have received a standard coupling, but after many attempts I realized the item was defective. I only ordered one. I’m not sure if I was just unlucky or if all the items are defective. Good luck.
