This one is worth trying if you are looking for a high quality Tudca.
I’ve gone through a few different TUDCA brands at the 250mg dose, and this Nutricost one is the first that I can honestly say makes a tangible difference. My main reason for taking it is twofold: I want the liver and protein-folding support, but I also take a pretty oil-heavy stack daily — phosphatidylcholine, gamma E, borage oil, fish oil — and needed something to help my body break all that down efficiently. For those interested in the biochemistry: TUDCA (tauroursodeoxycholic acid) is a conjugated bile acid that works through several well-characterized pathways. In the endoplasmic reticulum, it acts as a chemical chaperone and attenuates the unfolded protein response — notably downregulating the IRE1 branch (search "IRE1 TUDCA" for the papers), while also modulating PERK and ATF6 signaling. This reduces CHOP-mediated apoptosis and suppresses JNK activation, both of which are key players in ER stress-driven cell death. TUDCA also inhibits Bax translocation to the mitochondria, stabilizes mitochondrial membranes against permeability transition, and reduces cytochrome c release — collectively protecting against both intrinsic and ER stress-induced apoptosis. In the gut, it improves bile flow and micelle formation, which emulsifies dietary fats and fat-soluble nutrients, aiding absorption and reducing the heavy, sluggish feeling that can come from an oil-heavy supplement load. None of this is medical advice, just the mechanisms that make this particular compound worth understanding. A quick heads-up for first-timers: when I started TUDCA, I got some mild nausea. I suspect I had what’s sometimes called sluggish or sticky bile, and jumping straight to 250mg was a little much. I backed off and slowly ramped up over about a week and a half, and after that I could take the full dose with zero issues. If you’re new to this, I’d strongly recommend easing in rather than diving straight into a full capsule. On the potency side: I’ve tried two other well-known brands claiming 250mg TUDCA per capsule, and they didn’t produce the same results. I don’t know if it’s raw material sourcing or stability, but Nutricost’s version works noticeably better for me. The effects on recovery are subtler than the digestive stuff, but I feel less of that nagging, overworked sensation after long physical days when I’m taking it. The capsule itself is standard 0 size, easy to swallow, no taste or smell. The bottle I got in early July 2026 expires March 2029, over three years. Nutricost says made in the USA in a GMP-compliant facility with third-party testing. I’d like to see published COA here on Amazon, but the basics are there. Price per capsule is .41 cents per my post date, which is more than fair for a dose that actually delivers. No side effects for me after the initial ramp-up. Standard disclaimer: if you have bile duct issues or are on liver-metabolized meds, talk to your doctor. No interactions with the things I take. This one earned its permanent spot in my stack. If you’re on the fence, start slow and pay attention — it might surprise you.

solved my right quadrant pain issue re to gallbladder i am not a dr but i did listen to one
I'm speaking from my experience only. I had gallbladder while thickening and sludge my right quadrant in the middle of my right side was painful for so long. I watched a man called Dr Berg. He explained how this particular supplement could help with this type of an issue. He explained that they would be very effective with minimal side effects. They're easy to take because their capsules so the ease of use is just swallow. They were very effective for me therefore the value of these things is almost priceless the ingredients are what they say they are from what I can tell and there is no oder from what i can tell. I've had no side effects from this whatsoever other than positive things happening to me in my pain has been non-existent it took about 2 weeks for it to take effect my lab results are phenomenal and I'm very happy.

This is the BEST OTC Liver support/protectant! Read my product review for a complete breakdown!
What’s up my Amazon Health & Fitness Family, it’s your boy HardbodybyAnthony. Anyway, for those of you who have not read or seen any of my reviews, I am Certified Master Trainer with over 20 years under my belt & I have many certifications, one of which is a certification in Supplementation & Basic Nutrition, so because of my years of knowledge and dedication in helping people achieve healthier lives through exercise & nutrition, is the reason why I do these reviews... in hopes I can help someone (even if just one person) with a bit of knowledge. *** I first want to say that I am NOT affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by ANY SUPPLEMENT COMPANY WHATSOEVER! I do NOT profit by my reviews or receive any monetary gains. Simply trying to help people make the best choice in this extremely shady business! *** • This review is on: Nutricost Tudca 250mg, 60 Capsules (Tauroursodeoxycholic Acid) - Premium Quality • So anyone that takes a lot of supplements as I do, or oral medications of any kind, drinks or party’s & definitely for cycle support should be taking a liver support/protectant. Many people are familiar with & most likely have taken Milk Thistle or maybe even Liv52 ,which are fine, but to be real honest, TUDCA is is FAR BETTER! • Keep reading to find out why! • TUDCA which is Tauroursodeoxycholic acid, is a chemical naturally produced in the human body & it is in a form of salt before it transforms into TUDCA. It is said to have a few benefits & the following are to name a few: 1) Said to protect nerve cells and it also protects the liver. 2) Helps to control cholesterol levels in the liver because it breaks down fats resulting in a healthy liver. 3) Said to have the ability to burn fats. Now on to the the main reasons this is top shelf: • It decrease liver enzymes that cause cholestasis & for those that have no clue what that is, cholestasis interrupts the flow of bile through the liver and by decreasing these enzymes, Tauroursodeoxycholic Acid can promote healthy cholesterol levels. TUDCA also promotes liver cell regeneration & to be honest, I recommend to combine this with Milk Thistle (NOT if you are using any methylated Prohormone or oral steroid), because it is a much more effective way to promote liver health and protection. Tauroursodeoxycholic Acid is also good for improving insulin sensitivity in muscle tissue and the liver. Lastly, it will increase the bile acids in our bodies which will help the body utilize fat for energy, and promote a healthy metabolism. • HUGE FACT: There is another product called UDCA which is prescription ONLY. Why am I mentioning this as a comparison? Well when TUDCA reaches the intestines, it will be transformed to UDCA. UDCA will then be combined with taurine (Liver produces Taurine) & this mixture will lead to the production of TUDCA. • These are normal size capsules, so they are easy to ingest, & are well within the expiration date. The recommended dosage is 200-300mg/day depending on your weight, liver health, drinking habits, oral medication usage & these are right on point with their dosage. Their price $29.95 for a 2 month supply is right where others of it's kind is, so bravo to Nutricost with this product. I have purchased this a couple times and will continue. I highly recommend.

Good enough, but could be better
Pricier than other brands, and the bundle doesn't save any money, but I have been using this product for a while and it works. However, I stopped using it for a while becausey symptoms improved and when I started using it again, the ingredients changed. I have a combination of digestive issues and Microcrystalline cellulose screws up my gut, I think it's an IBS trigger. This product seems to have a small enough amount that it's not terrible for me, but it is less effective than it used to be and I think that's why. Microcrystalline cellulose is made from tree fiber and is supposed to create a consistent product, but when I tried a digestive enzyme with Microcrystalline cellulose it hurt my stomach more than it helped. The delivery is usually pretty reasonable even without prime.

This TUDCA product works -- prevented gall bladder removal surgery!
Before starting this TUDCA product, I had had 9 gallstone attacks over 6 months, with increasing frequency. My liver enzymes had been high for years, and a sonogram showed my gallbladder FULL of gallstones. My doctor said if I started having symptoms, she'd recommend having my gallbladder out (I hadn't told her about the gallstone attacks, so she'd done the sonogram based only on the elevated liver enzymes). Since I have known other people who had lifelong diarrhea after getting their gallbladders removed, I wanted to try a more conservative approach first. So I ordered this stuff. When I took 1 capsule per day as directed on the bottle, I had no attacks... unless I missed a day. So it seemed its 250mg dose was just a "maintenance dose" and I wasn't making much progress against the backlog of gallstones. So I looked up the original research on TUDCA/UDCA, found the mg/kg ratio and did the math. At 170lbs, I should have been taking 700mg/day to get the existing gallstones to dissolve. This product is 250mg. So I increased to 2-3 capsules a day. It has now been 8 months with no gallstone attacks AND my doctor commented on how much improved my liver enzymes are! Even when I've missed a couple days, I haven't had an attack. That said, apparently the liver starts producing thick, sticky bile that sediments out into gallstones when one's hormones drop during perimenopause. So, I'm also looking into starting HRT to address the root cause.

My liver enzymes improved significantly while using this
I purchased Nutricost TUDCA after reading about it while working on losing some extra weight and improving my overall health. I had been dealing with mildly elevated liver enzymes for several years, and simply losing weight in the past hadn’t produced the kind of improvement I was hoping to see. I added this TUDCA to my supplement stack as part of a workout and weight-loss routine. I also had blood work done before and after, which gave me an objective way to compare the results. The difference in my liver enzymes was significant. They went from being elevated into the normal range after I made these changes. I can’t say that TUDCA was responsible for the entire improvement, because I was also exercising, losing weight, and making other changes at the same time. However, the improvement was more dramatic than what I’d experienced previously from weight loss alone, so I believe TUDCA may have contributed. As for the product itself, the capsules are easy to take and the 250 mg dosage works well for how I incorporated it into my supplement routine. Obviously, my results are my personal experience and aren’t a guarantee that someone else will see the same thing. But I was impressed enough by the change in my blood work that I’ll continue to consider TUDCA part of my overall health routine. Bottom line: I can’t attribute my improved liver enzymes entirely to TUDCA, but I saw a noticeable improvement while using it as part of a broader weight-loss and fitness program.

Terrible authentic taste
I take one daily. The tablet is terrible in taste just like the real thing! So the trick is to have it by itself and a quick gulp of water chased with juice to remove the aftertaste. If I let it lie a minute in my capful of other tablets then the taste transfers a bit so don’t do that! You can Google TUDCA taste to find out more, and it definitely isn’t made from bear liver LoL though traditional Chinese medicine might have originally discovered it through bears. I am happy with the quality and didn’t face any issues like powder outside the capsules.
