It works!
I purchased this threshold barrier to add to my Petsafe Classic inground system. It recommended not installing it on the wall however it works just fine. I do not use the collar it came with i use the Classic system rechargeable dog collar. No more baby gates:)

Broken record - Do Not Buy!!
My dog (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, pic so you’ll read my review lol) recently had emergency surgery due to ingesting a foreign object. With small kids, it’s next to impossible to keep all laundry, socks, scrunchies, etc. off the floor. This wasn’t the first time the dog ate something….just the first time for surgery. I needed a way to keep him from going upstairs to the bedrooms, where all the “goods” are. I bought this set and an extra collar for his cavalier brother - and the collar that came with the set would not work… I checked the battery levels and they were fine. The other collar didn’t work and those batteries were dead. I replaced the batteries and the collar seemed to work - but did not stop the dog. I couldn’t figure it out. It made noises… so I tried it on myself. No shock at all. No matter what mode it was on (training or standard, level 1 or 4)… no shock. I needed this fast - so purchased the collar only set, and it came the next day. The collar seemed to work - but again did not stop the dog. I was scared, but tried it again on myself. Again, no shock at all. Now most people would have given up…. Nope. I needed this to work. (I had tried a dog gate in the past, but my golden retriever cannot be “fenced in” and made it his mission each and every time I fixed the set up, to break the gate and / or knock it down.). I literally purchased it again - a new threshold set and additional collar. When it came 2 days later, I got to work setting it up. IT LITERALLY WAS THE SAME EXPERIENCE. If you’re counting, that’s 4 collars and 2 thresholds, and all it does is make noise. And I read and re-read the instructions, googled my issues - and I guess it truly is a TERRIBLE PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY!!!!

Didn’t work when it came
The collars that came with the original barrier kit worked great. This one didn't work when it came originally because the prongs wouldn’t touch the battery. Then it stopped working again because something is loose inside and only works if you bang it on the counter or something first. Since we have multiple dogs we rotate the collars around on them and this acts as a placebo to keep them away from the cat but it’s disappointing to pay this much for a product that doesn’t work.

Works really well
I was skeptical when I bought this, but it works really well! I tried it on myself to see how much power it has and it’s not bad at all. It’s more startling than anything else and it works really well to keep my dog out of areas I don’t want him in.

If it worked, it would be awesome...
We have a female cat that's about 7 years old. She's always been poorly behaved. She has a tendency to nip, so she has to be locked in a room when we have guests over. She also gets into *everything*.For most of the time that we've had her, we've had other pets as well, including a dog and other cats. The dog and other cats were older and have passed. We've also moved in the last year and haven't brought new pets into the house, so our cat is simply bored. Of course, this means that she's getting into trouble all the time (she wasn't such a big problem when we had other animals for her to annoy, although none of the other pets wanted to be around her). If we can't find a way to control her, I'm not sure that we'll be able to keep her. As it is now, if you are foolish enough so set down a plate of food anywhere in the house, she'll be into it in less than 10 seconds unless you are on constant guard. This also means that whoever is cooking the next meal cannot leave the kitchen for any reason. Forgetting an ingredient that needs to be retrieved from the pantry is a problem.I set this product up with high hopes, but the day 1 report is not promising. I tested the collar on my fingers, and it does work as advertised. The problem is that the voltage is low enough initially that I don't think that she's feeling it through her fur. She's about 10 lb, and her neck is pretty skinny. If I wanted to make sure that the electrodes were in contact with her skin, I would need to make it tighter than I am comfortable.I'll keep making adjustments for the next few days to see if I can find a balance that works, but so far this has not been the answer that I was hoping for.

Collar fails. Poor design for battery replace
The Petsafe collar has a poor design for replacing the batteries. The cap contact point is the weak link in the design. Even after getting Petsafe to send me a new cap the collar is non- responsive. Yes, I used multiple new batteries.

Doesn't work on cats!
Product is easy to setup and get started. Bad news is, I have the range on 4 (max) and the collar still has to be at least a foot near the threshold to make the collar go off. Well, the collar beeps and gives a 3 second delay before it shocks. By the time those 3 seconds have gone by, my cats have been past the threshold! If your animal is just going to run right over it- FORGET IT. NOT going to work at all.

THE Solution! Boxer doesn't jump at window anymore
The media could not be loaded. After trying several other solutions to prevent the behavior seen in the picture, and what you dont see (which is him slamming his paws against the glass and frames), PetSafe's Threshold Barrier was the answer!! you see in the video, the boy gets the tingle and learned right away that the window is not for him to jump at. Thank you PetSafe for saving not only the windows, but more importantly, saving our boy, Deuce Wigglelow, from serious injury or worse! 🤎🐾🐶 highly recommended

Weak, couldn’t even stop a mouse
I tried it a few times to make sure I was using it right and it didn’t stop my dog one bit.My dog sat on the sensor excited to see me while the collar was going off and didn’t even phase him.

Did the trick
My dog was regularly sneaking upstairs to pee, despite giving him regular outdoor time and using an enzymatic cleaner. However, this product stopped the annoying habit my dog had developed straight away. I did try it on myself first, and although the shock is uncomfortable, no more so than touching an electric fence. While I still put the shock collar on our dog, he has never once looked like he will try heading upstairs again after getting his initial zap. Great product!
