Perfect for non-ferrous metals, reliable and accurate.
Fantastic device, best I have found at this price point. Sturdy construction, grip friendly, readings within 3 seconds, easy to calibrate, can read down to 1 mil reliably. It is being used for quality control in a paint shop for wheel repairs, and it is great for non-ferrous materials, especially aluminum and magnesium. Nicely made hard case comes with it. Display is quite large and easy to read at a variety of angles. It was fulfilled and in my hands in less than 24 hours, very well packed.

good service
The first one I got gave multiple readings in same area and was not accurate. This company was quick to send me another one to try plus a different model to see which one I was the most happy with. The second PaintGage FNF I got was good and accurate the first one was just defective. I ended up going with a model they have called, QNix Handy (Imperial Version). I have found these products to be very good in finding paint work on vehicles. I am a car dealer and am using this to help catch cars that have had paintwork and this product is working good so far. I am very impressed with the professionalism of this company, they will email and call you direct and get problems solved quickly!!

Product is accurate when it works. It is not as easy to just put it up to the surface and wallah, you get the right result. There are times when it doesn't even come one, so I am join to have to READ the starting guide. However, I had my body shop redo a quarter panel fix, as I could easily see that they put too much bondo on and didm;t pull the metal enough. Worth it just for that!

Best in price range
I use this for assessing body and paint work on classic cars. Very easy to use, quick readings (as long as you hold it exactly perpendicular to the surface, and as long as the surface isn't severely curved). I chose this model over others in the same price range due to its ability to measure up to 80mils of coatings, versus others that max out at 40. I'm glad I did - it's not uncommon to find skim coats in rocker panels that get into the 50s for a small area, and this lets me know it's not a hole filled in (it doesn't OL until >80).Sure makes verifying owners claims simple, or finding the real truth under what can appear to be a straight panel or single coat.

Four Stars
Good for price. Little metal tip can scratch paint. Competitor's (more expensive) did not have this sharp tip.

Great product!
This is a great mil gauge! Very accurate, does exactly what I need it to do. I am a pipeline inspector, and it works great out here. Customer service from the seller was on point and he responded quickly. I got the product over night and on-time.
