Does the glossy finish make this one more durable than the matte finish version?

I wouldn't say it's any more durable. I have found these mugs to be dishwasher safe, microwave safe and a good buy for the money.

I bought this mug to put vinyl on it and a few weeks later the vinyl is coming off and there is a coating peeling from the mug. Is this normal?
