I am very disappointed with the product
I am very disappointed with the product. I ordered a 10-Count Brooklyn Sleeve from HiLine last week. I was hoping to use this an alternative to Nespresso Pods. It wasn't meant to be.The first two pods from HiLine did not work. My Nespresso U did not puncture through the foil. What I got was plenty hot water in the bottom of my Nespresso tray. I am afraid to try any more capsules in case they will cause damage to my Nespresso.Bottom line, I would not recommend HiLine product to any Nespresso owner. Actually, I would discourage anyone to try the product.8/28/2014 *EDIT*After I posted a review, I received a response from HiLine as seen in the chain of comments. After our email communication, HilLine sent me a few samples of their new capsules for me to try with my Nespresso U. They all worked pretty well with an exception of one capsule. Having said that, I never had one Nespresso capsule failure with my machine. The taste of their coffee was pretty good and comparable to Nespresso capsules. As a result of their customer service and new product line, I am bumping their stars up to 3 from 1.

Not the worst and not the best coffee
I think the coffee could be better if it were fresher tasting. I'm thinking maybe that creative foil top is not keeping the "ground Coffee" as fresh as the sealed top by Nespresso. You have to decide if the price is worth the taste!

Updated:** Nespresso U D50 will not puncture the plastic capsules
Update 3/6/2014HiLine has got my business for life!!! HiLine has sent me the Grand Central Medium blend to replace my original order, as well as refunding my original order. The Grand Central Medium and Greenwich Village Dark have redesigned capsules that resolve the punching problem with Nespresso U machines. These capsules come individually wrapped, because the capsule has a neat/well engineered grate on the end that normally gets perforated. In reading reviews of other people using off brand capsules, it looks like Nespresso changed the U machines on purpose to force an incompatibility. The Grand Central blend is definitely a medium blend with a roasted then raw nutty taste.Update 2/27/2014The owner of HiLine replied with a quick refund. They reached out to communicate directly. He stated that the U line of Nespresso is designed to be incompatible with aftermarket pods. Evidently they have two blends that will now be compatible. Updating from 1 star to 4 stars to reflect a positive experience with this company. I am looking forward to trying their redesigned capsule blends. Very refreshing to find a company trying to make a good product. I look forward to moving this review to 5 stars.Original Review:The hard plastic on the capsules cannot be perforated by the Nespresso U D50. It ends up filling the used capsule compartment with water. I tried the same capsule twice without any success.

Compatible or barely compatible
I have the DELONGHI Lattissima+ the pods are almost the same size, on the back of the pod where the machine punches into it, there is a hard plastic shell when inserting the capsule you have to be carful, when pulling down the handle you have to be slow and force it down just for it to close over ally taste is ok comparable but if i used these on a daily basis i feel it would break the lever on my machine and doubt nespresso would warranty is for using high line products

A+ coffee even better customer service
Had a problem with my initial order from a 3rd party seller here on Amazon, and Ted from Hiline went above and beyond to make it right. My wife and I also love the coffee, and it is way cheaper and easier to order than the nespresso brand. Ted definitely bagged a couple more customers, Hiline rocks.

Very Good Alternative; Lighter than Nespressos
I have used both Nespresso and Hiline capsules for a few months. Both work fine in the Pixie. Both produce good espresso. The Hiline capsules occasionally go on sale; the Nespresso capsules never do. The Hiline website is simple and straightforward; the Nespresso website is fancy and tries to impress you with snobbery to make you feel important enough to pay their premium.Be advised that both capsule systems are ripoffs when you consider the $/gram of coffee. Think of yourself buying a service of convenience because you sure aren't buying much coffee! This stuff runs over $50/lb, and you can order superb shade grown Estate Reserve pure Kona beans from Hawaii, or some excellent high-grown Peruvian beans from Counter Culture for your Hario or French Press for that kind of dough.Assuming the capsule content descriptions on both sites are truthful, Nespresso mixes some Robusta into the more "intense" (an undefined word in the coffee business, so you can make it mean what you want) capsules while Hiline uses pure Arabica in all their capsules. Consequently the Hiline coffees are generally lighter so if you're used to the more bitter Nespresso product with Robusta you may want to forgo Hiline light for the mediums and darks. Many people confuse strength with bitterness, so those same people will say the Nespresso capsules with Robusta are 'stronger' than the Hiline capsules without Robusta. I personally dislike any Robusta in my coffee so when ordering Nespresso capsules I choose those without. I recommend these Hilines as a fine alternative to Nespressos. But keep a few of the more intense (!) Nespressos around, too.
