A bit gritty
I know that Epic is a very good brand and has some excellent products. But the taste and texture of this bar was not to my liking. Way too gritty.

Salty. Ugh. Taste is unpleasant. What a waste of the majestic buffalo.
After having eaten almost 1/2 a bar, even for survival food... for food to take on the go / long trips, I'd never choose this. I almost bought a bunch of it for that purpose and I'm REALLY glad I decided to try it first. I suppose I'd be thrilled to find it even in a garbage dump were I to be absolutely starving, but even then, would there be enough potable water around to drink for combating the excessive saltiness? I think I'll figure out how to make pemmican. This stuff gives me the heebeejeebies just thinking about eating it again. I apologize to the majestic buffalo for its having had to be ground up into this vile product.

A little harder to chew than expected. Taste was ok

Good source of protein. Weird tangy flavor.
I tried all of the Epic bars. I think they’re a good source of protein but don’t love the flavor. They all have an unusual tang to them. I might eat them again during the apocalypse but not before.
