The true classic. Good reproduction.
The classic work in a good reproduction. Opticks should be considered as prequel to the Principia.

Note to the publisher digireads
I respect providing a cheap copy of this important scientific work, however the printing of the text leaves too little white space between the end of the line and the center binding of the book, so it is very difficult to read to the end of the line.

It's amazing to have as an interesting historical resource
It's amazing to have as an interesting historical resource, but it's definitely like a dry math book. This edition does have diagrams though.

What more can be said about the most brilliant man who ever lived.
Still reading and shall keep it by by bed for reference. He was my seventh great grandfather's cousin.

Opticks Reviewed
Overall the book covered the material well. However the book was somewhat difficult to follow. It took a couple of passes to clarify what was being said.

Dont Understand
It is obvious neither of the previous reviewers understand, this book was written by Issac Newton in the 1600's. It is read for historical reasons.

Newton
What can you say.It is the book written by the scientific giant. It is hard going in places because of the way that he wrote at the time.Worth reading carefully. Many of the stories about Newton's discoveries in Optiks are not as usually stated. For example, it was well known that white light passing through a prism would create spectrum, he explained it, having purchased a selection of prisms from the market.Everyone know that there are seven colours in the spectrum - except that anyone creating one using a prism will see that there are not. Newton did not get it wrong - we have got sloppy - Violet for example is not a specrral colour. It is astonsihing to compare what Newton actually did (real genius) and decribed with what we have misrepresented.Buy it and get Newton's own words...

Wrong book in the different cover.
Cover of the book is different from the content of the book. Cover is, "Optiks: Or, a treatise of Reflections, Refractions, and Colours of Light", but content of the book is "Emotions and War" . So please send the true book of "Optiks".
