Due to those I hesitated buying these, but I needed them sooner than other options (these were the fastest delivery - overnight). Since this is for a parking brake I figured even if it's rough it would work for it's purpose. But they came as brake shoes should without the divots shown in other posts. They are fine and I am happy. Another has commented that these are 'thin', they are not. This is for a parking brake, used normally you will never wear out the shoe as the adhesive that bonds the shoes will fail long before you are even a fraction of the way worn. But also, and why I edited my review is you don't want them thick. It makes it very difficult to install the drum/rotor with thick shoes, you can only retract them so far and any thicker and it won't fit at all.
