I usually taped my knees but would find that I would be very sore hours after class with difficulty walking up and down stairs. I used these for the first time this morning during my class and I am quite pleased with the results. My knees felt supported during the class for the squats and other leg work. I was able to quickly transition during sets without issue...after class my knees felt great--the stiffness and soreness was gone and I have been able to walk up and down stairs without issue. I would recommend this product to anyone that needs additional knee support during a workout. A side note--they were a bit snug when I put them on and I was worried they would slip down during the workout or would cut circulation--but I didn't even notice them once I got into the heart of the workout and they stayed put. Wish I would have gotten them sooner. Review: A Concerned Golfer - I'm not sure if these are good or not I ordered an EXL which should have been correct based on the size chart. I wore them for the first time playing golf and having to do a lot of walking. I was told to wear a brace by my doctor who did some meniscus cleaning of my Knee. had another brace I wore previously but it was wearing out so I decided to get these based on the ratings. When I got home from golf and took them off my knee really ached and swelled up. I was in pain and tried to ice it down. I was fine with the other brace so I'm concerned that the Thru Fitt. aggravated my knee problem. Not sure if it was the size or what. It was a little tight but my other brace was also. Hopefully I don't have to return to my doctor. I gave it 3 stars because I don't know what happened. I have quad tendonitis and bought these for support while squatting. These combined with stretching really seemed to help me get back to pain free lifting pretty quickly. Don't be fooled though. These just like any other product is not magic for pain relief.
