This canopy is made for XL canvas chairs where the back legs and seat back are the same upright tube.Look at your chair before you buy.It didn't work on my chair but I wish it did because it's pretty cool. The gripping mechanism is a simple lever and it only took a a minute to set up. It comes with a cloth bag for ease in carrying.Again, your chair must have the back legs and seat back be a single straight tube.

I weigh around 400 pounds, this seat didn't even creak when I sat down. I would suggest a cushion for more comfort.

The canopy is difficult to attach. When you get it attached it won't stay completely open and constantly needs to be re-locked in place. After all that it oy covers the top of your head so really only works at Noon. Any slanting sun and it is more trouble than it is worth. Tips easily as well. Save your money for sun lotion.

I weigh in at 250. The last chair I had was rated for my weight but, I assume, did not take into account the effort it takes a big boy to get out of these things. The stress on the previous chair was too much for the structural components and the chair failed. I don't see that happening with this chair for two reasons: it's sturdier and, probably more important, I make an effort NOT to put the strain on this chair that I did on the last. Tried the canopy once. Easy setup and take down and it provided the protection from the sun as advertised.

Having to return this chair. Seems like a really well made chair but not sure if this was a manufacturer defect but the pole ends on the back of chair are not capped inside the material. Causing it to fray. Seems very sharp and will wear through. Only used twice. Purchased a similar chair from a sporting good store and you can tell the ends of pole frames are capped on the inside of material. I would live to know if this was a manufacturer defect , i would love to exchange. Very nice well made chair other wise.

Ordered 2 chairs and canopies for July 4. Great! Very sturdy. Not too heavy to carry to beach or events. Like that canopy is completely separate from chair so you don't have to have it with you if using chairs at night. First uses of canopy not totally intuitive, a friend noticed that the instructions for the canopy had been sewn into the carrying bag and remarked what a great idea! Will leave them attached.

These canopies are just what we needed to shield us from the sun.
