Only Scissors I Use
As a former ED RN, I only used these scissors. They're sturdy, sharp, cut through anything, and last. I used these scissors for years and they're still as sharp as when I got them. I just bought these for my daughter, who is now working in an ED. She said her current trauma shears don't work well. I can't wait to give these to her to use.

5 star for the price
I was really skeptical about these for the price, but someone borrowed my scissors the other day and I got them back dull. I decided on these based on the price and haven't been disappointed. The first day I got these, I had a super combative patient with a restraint vest. With lots of assistance we had to clean him up and change the vest that was completely soiled, only to find he damaged the zipper. The large scissors easily cut the vest material and right through the zipper, saving the day. They are still sharp and ready to go.I'm not sure I need both pairs of these. I wish I had only gotten the large size and bought a smaller pair of scissors for cutting tape around IV's etc... The depth of the blades is substantial enough that you can't really get between a patient's skin and tape (about 13mm from the bend in the safety flange to the edge of the blade). These are autoclavable if that is available to you. I've had them for a couple weeks now and the finish looks pretty sturdy. They clean up very easily with chlorahex or alcohol. The scissor function is just right, not overly stiff or loose. The grips are very comfortable. Based on function against price they earn a 5 star rating easily. If you need a scissor for cutting clothes, large bandage materials like ACE wraps, or anything else besides things that are very close to the skin, these are a highly recommended buy. If you need scissors for close work around IV's or small bandages then I would look elsewhere.****UPDATE***** 5/9/2015 - scissors still used every shift. Still sharp and working flawlessly. The rubbing in my pocket has slightly removed some of the black coating along a few of the high spots, but it's probably 98% still intact. No rust and no sticking. People ask to borrow them all the time. Love them.

Pretty decent scissors!
I am a med/surg and ICU nurse, which means A LOT of need for scissors. Tons of wound care and cutting lines (even a pesky hospital gown or two). The smaller scissors have yet to fail me. They are sharp and comfortable to use and cut with ease. It only took a few uses for the coloring to start to scratch off, but even after the approximately 40 bleach or Cavacide baths they go thru they aren't getting tough, squeaky or rusty. Nothing loose and they sail thru gauze without catching. Why only three stars? They bigger pair arrived broken. They are bent so bad they don't open or close. When I contacted the seller to get a refund I more or less got brushed off and told to contact someone else, but I didn't have time to wait to mail these back then get the replacement in the mail. Amazon wouldn't let me just mail back the larger ones and replace those, I needed to send them both back and I really needed a pair for work the next day. But, as I said, the little ones are great and the big ones trash so half the stars.

Great Price for Two Good Quality Pairs of Medical Scissors!
I have not used these in an emergency situation yet, but I did test their sharpness cutting through some cardboard and plastic packaging easily. They seem to be good quality and had many good recommendations which is why I purchased these over several others I considered. For the price, you can't really beat it since you get two pairs of medical scissors of different sizes. This came in handy for me as I used them to put together two EMT kits: one for the car and one for my main EMT kit. I believe they will work just fine, and others have said they work great as well. I wanted a pair of Leatherman scissors, but they are a ridiculous $69! I could just purchase 6 pairs of this pack and still spend less!

A great deal!!
I first used a pair of fluoride coated bandage scissors in 2010 and loved that they didn't gum up when I tried to cut through tape that's on bandages. FYI, the only difference between the coated one and the regular stainless scissors is that tape doesn't stick to the cutting surface, so I spent less time trying to clear the cutting edge in an emergency, etc..I purchased my first pair that same year for close to $30 and had them stolen a couple months later. I considered myself lucky when I found a pair the beginning of 2012 for $8 on Amazon, manufactured by the company Prestige. I managed to keep track of them until my wife borrowed them a couple weeks ago but once again luck is on my side because now I've found two pair for the price of the last set I bought.

Great set
I bought this set because the price was decent and I wasn't sure what size I would prefer so this was a good way to try both without paying an arm and a leg. I bought them for cutting my ostomy wafer. They work great and so far the adhesive is not sticking. I just bought a second pair of the smaller of the two in purple handles. One pair for home/regular use and one pair for travel/accident use so I don't have to pack and unpack my accident kit all the time. The larger pair is way too big for the use I needed them for. But they're still great and I like to know I have them for other uses if need be.

There decent shears
I'm an emt in NYC so I've been through many shears ,recently I've lost my last shears on a trauma job.So I've been on the market for a new one.I didn't want to be something expensive like me last ones so I've stumbled on this. The shears come in nice black coat and the handles are really solid and it's great you get 2 of them for a good priceBut the shears don't cut to well.Where most shears go through a pairs of clothes in a few cuts this one takes about 7 or 8 cuts.So there ok but I'll would look else where.

Nice set
I have all sorts of scissors for the house and my shop. This set is high quality and work well. I bought them for my mini emergency home kit. They stay closed when they are supposed to be closed but open and work easily. I have large hands and the bigger set is better suited for me but I have no major problems with the smaller set.I find them easy to clean and under UV light, they appear to stay clean. However, I am very careful not to contaminate them. They also look good.
