Extremely Satisfied
I have allergic reactions to regular hair dye to the extent to need medical attention. My natural hair is a sandy red brown color. I did research on the Henna Persian Black. And found that it was 100% Botanical. It was not that difficult to apply but very different. Similar to applying a relaxer to the whole hair, after I made the mixture I did notice that it started to get real thick almost clumpy so towards the end I made a mess. (When this happens add more boiling water to your mix to keep it thick and creamy). I let this stay on for an hour and a half. with no heat. After I rinsed it out with conditioner and to my surprise came out quite well. My hair was jet black actually it looked better and felt healthier than the regular dye. It was also much thicker. I will be using this product again to keep my hair black. Before I applied this product I did do a patch test on my arm and did a strand test on my hair before I used this Henna Persian Black. Well I wish you good luck. From my experience with Henna Persian Black I would say it is safe to apply immediately after having your hair relaxed. Actually it made my hair fell a lot stronger and again as I said before thicker. But individual results may vary. Oh and if you use this over previously dyed hair It can make your hair green (do your research). Once you use henna it is a stain so you cannot go lighter.

Love this ๐ and yes it covers white/gray hair!
Iโve been using henna for years, though Iโve only started using this brand as my brand quadrupled price over the last year or so. Checking reviews of people saying it did nothing or wouldnโt cover white or gray hair scared me but at this price I needed to give it a try and Iโm pleased to say that is NOT what I experienced. Iโm super grateful for the ability to just use as much as I want (less for touch-ups) my last brand was a 2 days process and more difficult using all the powder or nothing. If you have lighter hair you may need to do multiple times to achieve darker color if thatโs what you want but we are using hennaโฆitโs a plant and various shades of orange/red are what you are going to get when going chemical-less. Lucky for me I love these colors. Iโve used all shades and love them all but I like the lighter tones these days. Darker brown colors and black are not all that reddish. I recently did my daughterโs hair black from medium blonde. The first day she was scared because it had a green hue. But by day 2 it was a beautiful black with a seemingly purple sheen which she was in love with. It couldnโt have turned out better! Coming from another brand Iโd say DO use a strong brewed black tea (I use 2 teabags) instead of water and add the TBSP of apple cider vinegar. I condition with each shower for a week to avoid the dryness but I love the results and Iโm loving a better price point snd convenience of the resealable container. Iโm sold to this brand over my popular big name brand whose price point got a little too big for its britches. Thank you Rainbow Research for not killing us with overpricing ๐๐ผ

Love the color
This is a month or more after dying my hair. New greys are coming in but the rest of my greys are still covered

Use apple cider vinegar to help dye adhere
It's probably been 10 years since I've used henna to dye my hair, I used the black color and I'm using it specifically to cover silver/gray roots. I did not leave it on long enough the first time and I did not use a cap so the second time I made sure to use a heat cap ( just used a plastic bag and tied it tightly and then covered it with winter hats). The Henna stops working if it dries out so wearing a cap that keeps it moist is essential. Adding a lot of apple cider vinegar when mixing the henna definitely helped as well- I did put a little black tea but I think the vinegar is more important for getting the color to adhere. I left it on for 4 hours and it did cover my gray hair although there were a couple spots that maybe I did not apply it well enough. Sometimes it's hard to get every single strand. It actually is a dark color with some red tones which I don't mind at all I think it's a really beautiful color. With the heat cap and vinegar I may not have needed 4 hours so I will experiment with less tme in the future as that is quite long to leave something on your hair... especially if you need to redo your roots every 2 weeks like I do. Some people leaving reviews here comment on the smell but I actually like it- it does not bother me. It feels good to use something natural on my hair and I was surprised how healthy my hair looked afterward. Upon my research I rediscovered all the wonderful conditioning qualities that henna naturally has. This feels a lot better to me than using questionable chemicals on my head every couple weeks... even the more natural hair dyes still have questionable chemicals. I only gave four stars because this is a new product to me and I dyed my hair just 5 days ago so I can't speak to the longevity of it yet but I would definitely use this product again.

Disappointed
Not only did this not cover my grays, it left gazillions of particles of dessicated henna leaf in my hair, on my scalp, in my tub... for days. I bought the black (Deep Ebony) specifically because I have dark brown hair and it said this would cover grays. Other henna products that I have used DID cover my gray, but left more red in my hair than desired. This one did absolutely nothing. I can't even say that it conditioned my hair as there is no noticeable change in how it feels. I have used many henna products at this point, in search of the best alternative for non-chemical hair color 'support.' This one is by far the least effective. I am seriously disappointed.

Natural and Stinky
I like that henna is natural and non damaging to hair and scalp. I used the black Rainbow henna. I have naturally dark brown hair with a few grays now and then. Even though my hair is dark, I like to make it more vibrant. This stuff is powder you mix with water or tea. It mixed but was still a little grainy. I left it on for 75 minutes. It stunk. It had like a humid swamp odor. When I washed it out and shampooed, I still smelled it. I ended up washing my hair like three times. That odor just lingered. It was gross and gave me a headache. My hair was slightly colored by the henna but not vibrant black like I wanted. It was still dark brown, maybe slightly darker than natural. Definitely not worth the effort. I am going back to the cream henna I typically use. It wonโt harm your hair, but it does smell terrible imo.

Excellent product
Great product and simple to apply. Covered a great deal of my gray and leaves my hair soft. No bothersome odor or skin irritation of any kind. I did repurchase already.

Definitely worth it!
This is the best way to color hair naturally. It does get messy lol but I enjoy mixing the henna powder with water to create a smooth paste. I leave it on for 3 hours wrapped in plastic wrap. The results are amazing. I personally love it. I do it every 2 weeks or weekly if I wash my hair a lot.
