Pictures and videos don't do these lanterns justice. The flame effect looks so real. I'd give these lanterns 6 stars if I only could, but after researching different brands and gleaning all the reviews I settled on these TomCare Lanterns. The metal housing appears sturdy and gives these lanterns a little weight and won't be as influenced to move in the slightest breeze. I could have purchased cheaper plastic ones with lower-quality rechargeable batteries but decided to pay a little more and avoid the headaches. My first thought is to leave them off and let them charge the first time I use them, but the manual clearly states on the last page under notes "Please turn on the light before charging. While I don't have direct sunlight throughout the day, I do probably get 5 to 6 hours of it that I was surprised at 5:00 am this morning when I let the dogs out they were still burning away. If you're looking to light a small area these aren't your lanterns, but if you're looking for relaxing purely aesthetic lighting these are for you.

A curiosity piece that brightens up a dark yard. Nice to look at at night, now that all the fire flies (lightening bugs) have been eradicated by insecticides. Looks like real flame. Have had to explain to neighbors that these are just solar powered led lights; not real flame. Decent price and timely delivery - recommended.

We loved the lanterns so much that we bought several more. We now have 10 of them. The flame is very realistic. Puts off lots of light with a warm glow.

At least 3 times I've rounded the corner where these are and thought "what the heck, there's a fire!"These seriously look so real, are solar powered, and have received so many compliments.I'm always suspect of pictures on products, but these are the real deal. They look authentic, turn on and off when they should, and are a great piece to add to your yard.Don't scroll further.... Buy now, you will not be disappointed!

They produce a lovely flame and look beautiful on the patio. Bought some for my sister who also loves them.
