Make sure you start it in lower elevation first with the gas. I had a hard time at higher elevations, getting the starter to work the automatic starter works well compared to having to sit and press the button over and over and over again like on the old ones.

Used this heater for a week straight in an rv after our furnace died and it was a life saver during our trip. We camped at 9500 feet and had a small issue due to the altitude. The heater worked for a while then it wouldn't light back up. After we figured out propane wasn't the problem we narrowed it down to the high altitude. All we had to do was leave the rv vent above the heater cracked and it solved our problem. Even with the outside temperature getting to 40F the inside of our rv was a nice balmy 65F, even with the vent open. No weird smells at all. Also worth having incase our home furnace decides to go out and we need to heat a room.

I had a smaller heater before this one. I love that this one doesn’t blow out in the wind. It’s provides heat from the sides for people sitting next to you. Highly recommend if you have to sit outside for ballgames.

This unit would not light even after several minutes of holding the pilot lighting button and the control knob, as per the instructions. I even looked up the instructions for cleaning the pilot light tube as outlined on the manufacturer website with no success. After reading the reviews and seeing that a few others had experienced this problem, I am regretting the purchase, however, there were a larger number of reviews from satisfied purchasers.I'm waiting to hear from the seller. My next review will depend entirely on the speed with which they replace this defective heater with one that operates as advertised.AMENDMENT: 3/18/23The seller responded quickly and helped me troubleshoot the heater. We still couldn't get it to work but they offered to send me a new one. I called the manufacturer and they gave me some tips that worked well\ so I now have a working heater and it works great every time I use it!!! Kudos to the seller and to Richard at Mr. Heater!!!

Get the burner with this heater. They both work great together. Easy to carry . The heater warms up my work shop fast. Also my wife's studio barn.

Mecand some buddies went camping early march. It ended up snowing and this is the only heater we had. It kept my 27ft camper toasty no problem.

Buy something else. These are some new engineers idea that he/she somehow sold to the higher ups and it is a failure. That engineer is likely terminated by now. It may work for a while but then not. Good luck with repairs. You cannot return it! Do yourself a favor and buy the Big Buddy heater instead.Now, if you are reading this after buying you one and it has failed, well, you shouldn’t have ignored this review prior to buying it.

This fine little heater performs just as designed. It starts easy and will heat up a chilly room in about 30 minutes.So far I have only used the 1lb propane bottles, and I did buy the adapter hose for use on 5 gallon tanks, but haven't tried that yet.Overall I'm happy with it.

Going to have extra heat tonight on the boat, I live on my boat now for 4 years

Surpassed my expectations, amazing product that pushes out a lot of heat. Use with a refillable 1 pounder tank or a 5 pounder tank to save on propane costs.

Ok lets get a few design flaws out of the way.1) the installation of the battery was painful. There is a plastic lid cover that needs to be accessed by removing a screw,, ok but instead of the lid lifting as one would normally expect. There is a weird downward procedure that makes it near to impossible to remove. Secondly after getting the battery in, the pilot light sparker fails to ignite, for that remove 1 star. Ended up using a flexible BBQ lighter to ignite the pilot light.The rest is gravy , it works super hot. It is silent and very portable. Lets see how it works in the deep cold this winterApart from the idiotic battery lid, great product. Would recommend, be careful and patient with that lid and you'll be ok

Great item, works perfectly right out of the box. Just install the battery, put on a 1 pound propane tank, and you are good to go.
