I bought this mic to replace my rode mic that takes a 9v battery and it actually sounds better than that $150 rode mic. I recently bought another one to put on my new camera. I seriously love this mic!

Update:turns out the cleaning kit was a present because of the shipment delay of the microphone that was stuck at the holding facility. Pleasantly surprised and jumped the gun a little bit. Product is great.I received this cheaply made cleaning kit from Pergear instead of the microphone I paid for. Awaiting to hear back from the company to send me the correct item or my money back. I waited so long too. Ugh...

Perfect mic for Canon M50. I have a Rode Video Micro but the audio on this mic is slightly better and the dual mic feature is amazing. I'm an actor so I need the mic to pick up my audio and the reader who stands behind the camera! Time saving as I no longer need the extra vaudio recording and can just record using 1 mic! Amazing!!!!!!!

This microphone is a complete game changer for those of us who produce videos where we are behind the camera talking to a person being filmed, or constantly going from behind the camera to the front. No more switching the mic around or excessive audio compression to make the voices of the person in front and behind the cameras similar in volume. I plan on purchasing another one of these to replace the microphone on my B cam.

Look...I’m able to use this because my workflow doesn’t involve a lot of outdoors vlogging, interview style. This front and rear recording capability is a Godsend for you to get good audio from you behind the camera and the person you’re shooting in front of it...simultaneously. And you can set it for just front OR rare facing, depending on which direction you’re shooting and your audio needs.Except the thing is absolutely horrible in wind, even with the supplied wind socks.I think one could easily cobble together foam windscreens that might fix the problem, but I just don’t have the time or need to experiment right now.

Love the ability to be able to record both in front and behind the camera at the same time. Small form factor but good quality!

Bought these to go with a vlogging camera so needed lightweight (to hold on the end of a pole) and capable of great sound.This delivers on both fronts. The two microphone setting is surprisingly useful - I'm already thinking of uses and different content that this will allow me to develop!

I have not experience problem with the wind as many complain on YouTube and I did use it outside while there was some a wind. The biggest issue I have with this microphone is that if you vlog or run and gun you will hear a rumbling from the plastic mount shaking. It’s enjoying but I still love the two side recording options so i will keep using it over my Rode micro. I would buy it again. However that rumbling might turn you off.

OVERALL THIS MIC IS A GREAT PIECE OF KIT. SMALL AND LIGHT, THE MOUNT SEEMS VERY STURDY AND THE CABLE IS OF A HIGHER QUALITY THAN OTHERS. THE ISSUE IS THAT THE DEADCAT X-2 WAS DAMAGED, IT WAS NOT GLUED CORRCTLY AND AS SUCH IT IS COMING LOOSE AT THE CONNECTION POINT WHERE IT SLIDES OVER THE MIC. NOT THAT BIG OF DEAL , BUT FOR A PRODUCT THAT WAS TO BE NEW... AUDIO IS SPOT ON . CLEAR AND CLEAN AUDIO. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT . IT IS ON PAR WITH RODE OR COMICA. HALF THE COST OF THE RODE FOR THE SAME BUILD QUILTY AND RESULTS.

This mic sounds great if you have your camera on a tripod or if you're barely moving....otherwise it's useless. The shock mount is nowhere near strong enough to hold the weight of the mic so it bounces around a lot, causing a very audible rumble sound if you're walking or moving the camera around. Definitely not a vloggers mic.
