I love these spiral ones! They are so easy compared to the straight flute ones. I snapped a 6mm off in my last project (steel) and never got it out. But I over engineered the hub anyway so one screw (of the 6) only caught 2 threads. Good enough. I guess they need to come up with “spiral” broken tap extractors now. I haven’t seen anything on the market yet.

I very rarely write reviews. I am a very heavy Amazon user. I spend ten's of thousands annually with Amazon both personally and for my company. First of all I wasted so much time going to local hardware stores to find a metric tap set. The local Ace Hardware store showed them in stock, but after a 20 minute ride to the store, they were out of stock. What an amazing waste of time. I tried other local stores. Another waste of time. Can never recover from loss time. I went to my tried and true option. AMAZON. I found this tap set, which was delivered the next day. It retapped a stripped hole as smooth as silk. The true test was that my metric bolt easily threaded into the tapped hole. I love this design of this tap set because it removes material as it threads in. No need to clean the threaded hole afterwards. I LOVE YOU AMAZON. Have been a user from the start, primarily for buying books. Even Dostoyevsky and Hemingway would love you, if they were still alive.

Overall, these taps are awesome. They are sharp, cut clean threads, and evacuate chips really well whether tapping by hand or power tapping. The spiral flute design is the main reason I bought this set, and it makes a noticeable difference compared to basic straight flute taps. Chips are pulled out of the hole more effectively, which makes tapping feel smoother and helps reduce the constant stop-and-back-out routine that is often needed with standard hand taps. They feel especially useful for blind holes or situations where chip evacuation matters. The range of sizes is also convenient. Having M2 through M12 in one set covers a lot of common metric threading needs, and the taps feel like a good value for the price. They are not high-end industrial taps, but for general shop, hobby, prototype, repair, and light machining use, they perform very well. My only real complaint is that the starting chamfer feels a little awkward compared to some of my other taps. I noticed this especially with the M4 tap in brass, where it was a little difficult to get the tap started cleanly. Once the cutting teeth were engaged, though, it cut clean threads without issue. I’m giving them 4 stars rather than 5 because this is still a budget-friendly tap set, and the slightly awkward starting feel keeps them from being perfect. As with any tap, especially smaller sizes, proper alignment, cutting fluid, and careful technique still matter. Overall, I’m very pleased with this set. The taps are sharp, they cut cleanly, and the spiral flutes do a great job evacuating chips. For the price, this is an easy set to recommend.

Where have these been all my life. I have manually tapped SOO many holes, with a stout bench press or milling machine after the pilot hole is drilled, chase the hole with these taps and done. Easy as drilling the hole. Go slow, use oil, buts its so much easier than tapping by hand. Needs a stout drill press or mill.

These taps worked great in tough situation. I had to drill out stainless steel bolts that were in an aluminum housing and these worked great.

i used the 3mm tape after i broke a standard tape. The 3mm tape cut great by hand and in the 2hp knee mill

Whish I could give a 5 star rating But one of the 4mm tap sets broke under light usage

Hardened cutting edges worked as it was supposed to making threads into aluminum.

M5 broke after second hole. Used very little torque when tapping the hole.
