Beyond Death: What Happens When We Die and How to Prepare Now to Take Advantage of It

Amazing book!
A treasure indeed. I have learned so much from this book that I didn't know before discovering the books of Samael Aun Weor. This book touches on deep subjects spiritually, such as: The Law of Free Will, Practical Magic, The Tribunals of Karma.I could go on but suffice to say I'm blown away by the depth of knowledge, spiritual practices, explanations on deep spiritual topics, and so much more that this body of work deals with. One of my favorite chapters among many was "A Talk on the Mysteries of Life and Death," that chapter and the topics discussed, for me, is amazingly informative on how to avoid the valley of Samsara, this valley of tears. Get ready to be blown away when you read this book or any of Samael Aun Weor other books! I'm very happy with this purchase and plan on purchasing more books by Samael Aun Weor. I certainly would recommend his body of work and this amazing book! Thank you! :-)

Inevitable Karma, Christian Commandments, and other fear tactics
I’m not sure why so many people like this book, but this brings me and probably many other people anxiety, and a lot of suspicion. The author is heavily biased toward Christianity and esoteric teachings that incorporate dogma and fear. For people who die of suicide, this is apparently a sin, because they will die again in the next life against their will, even though they had no memory of their previous actions. “We are sinners, and we need to end our errors.” A typical toxic Christian view.Another thing that’s even more disturbing is the age-old idea of karma being about reward and punishment. Weor claims that Lords of Karma choose our lives for us and judge us based on our past life karma. (There was an example of parents needing to “suffer the hard lesson” of losing their children due to being abusive in a past life.) We are somehow supposed to attain perfection to escape the dreadful reincarnation cycle, but we all know that humanity can never be perfect, so we’re all stuck in Hell. (Why continue on with life if we keep failing due to bad karma from other lives?) This contradicts what many people have stated in Near-Death Experiences; that their souls choose their next lives. Weor states at one point that Jesus, Buddha, and ascended masters can reincarnate at will when in actuality, they have already completed reincarnation and don’t have to do it anymore. The afterlife does not sound like a friendly place if souls are forced to reincarnate against their will right away after each lifetime. If we are to trust the universe and truly learn from our errors, then the idea of karma being neutral as stated in Buddhism and Hinduism sounds more reasonable. Not to mention the toxic myth that “all suffering is the result of past life karma,” placing blame on innocent victims and disregarding accidents and bad luck.Weor also claims that sinful souls have to evolve as minerals, plants, animals, then as humans for 108 lives. This makes it seem like being an animal or plant is somehow a “punishment” or them being an “inferior” life form. There is no mention of souls reincarnating as aliens or other organisms beyond Earth as some other psychic sources state. Everything is one, therefore there is no such thing as one species being “superior” to another. Is an elephant superior to an ant? Is a fish better than a seagull? Like it or not, humans are just another species evolving on Earth.Weor then goes on to talk about the “Law of Recurrence” in which everyone returns to Earth to repeat everything from previous lives, and we suffer the consequences. This doesn’t make sense because in each lifetime, we become a new person and we add new karma along with the old. You can’t learn the exact same lessons when you are a different gender/race in a different time period. Apparently not even reading the Bible will save us from Hell, we can only “achieve perfection,” but Weor does not have any specific instructions that work for everyone. There is also no answer as to why we came to Earth in the first place nor does the book explain how past life karma would affect a soul incarnating as a human for the first time.Weor gives Jesus and karma a bad name. The idea that Jesus would command people to convert others to Christianity (or more specifically to the Gnosis that Weor believes) is despicable. Jesus wanted humanity to become aware of the fact that everyone is part of God; that we each awaken at our own pace. In another instance, Weor claims that a person’s tuberculosis was the result of the person being unfaithful to God/Jesus and that demons cause illness. (Wonder why there are many healthy atheists out there?)Finally, Weor’s condescending, pharisaical attitude is further illustrated in the text. To stroke his ego, Weor further calls himself “Master Samael Weor” when he mentions a vision of him being chosen to spread his esoteric knowledge. In answering a person’s question, Weor remarks, “I am not going to explain the Arcanum A.Z.F. of our Gnostic studies to you, because you would not understand it.” Also, “repent, study our books and practice.” Typical examples of spiritual/esoteric elitism that keeps people separated and confused. He also called one person “profane” and another a “hag” because they were not following the Christian expectations of sex after marriage.Frankly, if the universe is this cruel to our souls and Weor has the answers, then I’ll gladly remain an “unconscious sinner” for many more hellish lifetimes.

Fear Of Death Is Dispelled With Knowledge
Death has always been seen as a doom and gloom topic, a no go area, a morbid aspect of life that nobody wants to talk about or even begin to face. This avoidance of death is by in large based on fear, a fear that is based on a lack of knowing, a lack of knowing of what happens to us after we die. This book is titled "Beyond Death" and it explains the process of what happens to us when we die, what aspects of ourselves remain after death and clearly outlines the vast array of opporutuniies and possibilities that await us after death.Instead of being something morbid, terifying and horrific, death can seen as a doorway, a doorway that can be harnessed for spiritual elevation.

Bad story telling poor creativity.
The book is in question and answer format, and it mixes reality and illusion with some very poor stories that appeared to be more fairytale than reality.

Great info!
Also goes into paths for people who do not want to fully realize but want off the wheel of samsara as well as those who truly do not want to return nor wish to fall into the abyss and how to do so. More actual techniques in his other books. A great read for further understanding of death and choices therin. All of Samael Aun Weor's books are great. When I first started they were hard to read since they were blunt, right to the point and cut my ego down. I took a few months of processing time off after the shock, then I got back into it. All of the World's religions are eventually looked at, since the heart of them are the same. You are also encouraged to think, practice and experience things for yourself. Of course things require patience and learning, however if one wishes to no longer suffer day to day, then this is the way. Many more courses offered for free, references and even audio are available at the publishers site. Gnosticteachings.org

I am sure that every one of us at some point in our live was wondering this mysterious question: "What is after death?" And I am also sure that everyone got a different answer to this question. Well, this time nor only can you read about different stories from different people and their own experiences with death but also you will get answers to most of your own questions about death from someone who can consciously travel to the region of the dead and coming back at his will. And of course for the intrepid ones we find again some useful techniques how we can have first-hand experience of the dead regions.
