9" Stainless Steel Trowel

I got this garden tool to replace a sharp trowel that seems on the verge of bending to the point of just snapping. I'm so happy with this new digger tool that I'm seriously considering getting another one, maybe a longer one. Strong, sharp and effective. I was a little concerned with it being dangerously sharp, but I'm very comfortable with it now that I have it. Highly recommended.

This tool is very strong and sturdy! It is a good size, not small at all. It is thick and the metal is sturdy. It has a sharp edge for digging in tough dirt. I bought it for my metal detector finds, knowing I would be going through hard dirt, and I am very pleased with it!!! If you want thick and sturdy with a sharp edge, get this one! The handle is padded and comfortable protection. There is a rope attached so you can hang it on your wrist or other. I DO HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOOL FOR METAL DETECTION DIGGING IN HARD DIRT.

I bought 4 of these trowels — 2 large and 2 small— for the hard job of digging up weeds, rocks, compacted dirt and limestone from between flagstones preparatory to adding new dirt and planting creeping thyme and other herbs in my flagstone garden path. I expected that I would only complete a portion of the path this spring because the work would be so demanding and awful. Instead, a friend and I completed half the pathway in one afternoon and expect to complete the remainder next week. The trowels did not bend, chip or break— they are in perfect condition (our elderly bodies not so much, through no fault of the trowels). I enthusiastically recommend these trowels and expect to buy more as gifts for gardening friends. They are fabulous tools! I definitely recommend buying various sizes if you are working in a pathway or existing garden bed. These are the right tools for many projects.

I was initially unsure about ordering this trowel cuz it's just a long narrow strip of stainless steel blade instead of the typical triangular shaped trowel but this thing is solid and strong and the grip is pretty comfortable. I use it to dig out all the chive bulbs and it goes through the soil like butter. So happy to have gotten this especially compared to the previous old trowel that was thin and broke at the tip. I'm not sure how long the plastic sleeve grip will last but I think the trowel itself should last quite a few years. I highly recommend this if you need a strong trowel for digging.

I am picky about my garden tools, and put them through a lot. This is really sturdy, and the size is just right. I find that many of them are too large for my liking. Highly recommend!

After breaking two spades, bought this and it works well. Little chance of it breaking and the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the handle could be more comfortable. Add a handle similar to that of Oxo good grip handles and the product would be perfect.

Bought for my 6 and 7 year old granddaughters for metal detecting. I had my son grind off the points just slightly so my granddaughters would not get poked the the sharp edges. When they are older I will have my son resharpen the edges. These are narrow which makes it easier for my young grandkids to dig through the hard dirt without making a giant hole. They fit nicely into their medal detecting bags. These would be perfect for planting spring flowers because they are not so wide.

The blade cuts through the clay soil here like butter and easily lifts weeds. However, for this purpose, the handle is too short. Also, the handle is a plastic material, and I wish it were wood or metal.

You should know this is the ONLY tool for weeding I can rely on being there after I die. It is built of solid stainless Steel and the good type that doesn't rust. Also made in USA to be specific it is ow tools in the US used to be made in the 1940's they were durable strong and well designed, All Wilcox tools are like that. I now have 6 of them in different sizes. They are the best of the best.
