The light given out is great and exactly as described. The fiddly bit is mounting the lamp on any surface that is difficult to access like the underside of a rafter or stair well.

We used two of these to light earther side of a recessed fireplace alcove. Previously there were two 60w conventional tube lights (i.e. running 120W), so the power consumption is down by 100w ! The manufacture's box includes fixing plates, screws, and plugs (as expected), but also two easy to use snap-in wiring connectors, which is a useful bonus. Ours, which are rated at a 'warm light 3000k' are a still a little bright, which may suit some (several options are available). I may place a heat resistant filter over mine (they don't get very hot). Tip - the price seems to vary from various sellers, so shop around.

I purchased two of these, 60cm & 90cm to go under shelves in the kitchen. They provide an excellent, even light distribution, with no flicker or glare.
