works great, caught a mac first time I put it in the water.

I had 3 other trolling lines out when I tossed my first ever Clark Spoon in the water. At first I thought the planer was defective because it wouldn't set. Nope. It had a fish on it before I even spooled the line out to where I planned on running it.

Great kit set up and ready to go. Excellent for trolling for Spanish Mackerel Complete kit with instructions, diving planners and spoons of different colors.

I was skeptical that this method could really be so easy but it works exactly like you see in the many vids about the topic 'trolling for spanish mackeral.' We literally caught our 1st S/M within 2 mins of setting the planer. The clark spoon vid about how to rig and set the planer was very helpful. The planer trolling is a simple process once you understand what you are doing and it's easier with 2 people, but the bottom line is that this setup does indeed catch S/M's and other fish in this class. Our 1st day trying this method, we caught about 20 fish - with a number of S/M's in the keeper range, including numerous ones over 24 in. All that said, these premade rigs make everything so much easier. The cost of the kit is close to the cost of buying everything separately and yet you have the benefit of everything done for you to save you time. That's totally worth it! 100% I would recommend

This is a nice starter kit. I'm sure you could purchase the individual items but this was a simple and effective way to get some clarkspoons in the water quickly.
